    Partisan ambush

Thanks Jim....the shell cases aren’t really too visible... but I’m now calling this done! Not sure if the water effects have worked out either? Thought I’d take advantage of the frosty weather to get some outdoor shots. This is a lovely simple kit and I’ve really enjoyed doing it...

    Partisan ambush

Base is about done... just added an oil was a few more leaves and water effects... Just trying out creating a few discarded shells from the MP40 by snipping some painted wire.... I hopefully want one splashing into the water but that may or may not come off.??? Thanks Jason

    Partisan ambush

Thanks all... just been for a rather damp stroll and came up with these which are closest to the bark on the model... lots of green a red browns in there, plus much darker where it is wet near the base...The Figure is finished now so I will start with the tree and crack on from there. Thanks Jason

    Partisan ambush

I took this pic the other day... I might struggle with this as your perception is that tree bark is brown but here the tree is mainly green!

    Partisan ambush

Hi all Next up for me is this splendid kit from Altores Studios featuring a female partisan and base. With my recent builds all being busts doing something in this smaller scale should be a pleasant change and it really is a lovely kit.... Its really well detailed for such a small scale (1:30)...

Back again....with yet another Airborne bust!

Thanks all.... I’m now calling this finished.... I made a few changes to the OOTB figure and I think I may need to tweak the expression slightly but that may have to follow... Here’s the trio of Airborne bust together ...( I seem to have lost part of the bazooka!) I think the reason that...

Back again....with yet another Airborne bust!

Hi all, Sorry I haven’t posted in a while ... I have been keeping an eye on some of the great stuff that’s been posted and I haven’t been completely idle... I’ve nearly finished another Airborne bust... made some modifications in terms of replacing a hefty looking machine gun with an M1...

    Lockdown output!

Hi all Has anybody else produced much more than their normal completed models this year. I know we have probably had more time on our hands but in my case, much of that has been taken up by home schooling the children. Equally I wasn’t one who is was out every night of the week so not much has...

    “The Old Man”...Das Boot.

Hi all Just put the finishing touches to this and now I’m calling it finished. Just done the zips, binoculars and added some runs of varnish for beads of sweat...which Don’t actually show up on the pics! I ordered a plinth online from Richard at Oakwood and then it was just a case of putting...

    Another 101st Airborne bust

Hi all Just a final footnote on this... I’m just back from a short break in Spain to discover: 1/ I now have to stay home for 2 weeks! ( oh no) 2/ a local lockdown as I live in Greater Manchester. ( oh no) 3/ My plinth has arrived ( oh yes!!!) So I thought I’d just finish this off and post the...

    “The Old Man”...Das Boot.

Hi all Just a quick update as I’m going away for a few days so there’s an enforced abscence from the bench... There’s still some detailing to do but the main shading on the body is about done... really hasn’t took that long to get this far which is a bit of a shame as I was really looking...

    “The Old Man”...Das Boot.

Anyhow... having seen the pictures I decided he wasn’t suitably tired and undernourished so I added a few grey shades and reddened under the eyes a little... now just need to soften the shading round the nose! Thanks Jason

    “The Old Man”...Das Boot.

From there I was really inspired by Neils tartan work on his charge of the Scots Greys thread so I thought I’d have a go at the shirt although most of it is hidden by the neck... ...and so on with the skin tones... I wanted a tired and sallow complexion caused by poor diet and lack of sunlight...

    “The Old Man”...Das Boot.

Hi all Next up I’ve been itching to get started on the Young Miniatures Das Boot captain which arrived a few days back. It’s pretty obviously based on Jurgen Prochnow from the brilliant 1981 movie although part way through painting I thought he was looking more like Jurgen Klopp! Anyway as ever...

    Another 101st Airborne bust

Thanks everyone...glad you like it so far...anyway whilst I wait for my plinth to arrive I thought I’d make a start on another bust... but not another Airborne....in fact it’s almost the complete opposite of Airborne....any guesses??? Thanks again! Jason
