Applied 3 1/2 coats of Tamiya LP49 clear gloss pearl. First time using their lacquer and was very impressed. Diluted 1 part paint to 2 parts MLT and sprayed at 15 psi through H&S Ultra 2024. Applied white primer and then Tamiya X2 with 2 drops of X3 and 1 drop each of X1 and X5 - didn't want another pure white build in the cabinet. Planning to give it coats of Tamiya Pearl gloss LP49 once cured before decalling and clear coating, think the effect will be very subtle.- Stefee

Not much progress recently due to some health issues and weather conditions not being conducive to spraying primer. Removed the air conditioning controls and vents as not fitted to my truck and created and printed the decals for the build - very happy with these.- Stefee

Here's all the parts to make up the load area. and here's with them all fitted. The 10 tie down hooks and 2 tailgate handles were difficult to clean up and attach. Unfortunately the windscreen is cracked, think I will just leave well alone. Well moulded parts with minimal flash and moulding seams but plenty of fine detail. Typical Tamiya kit, no fit issues if a little simplistic. Only non standard parts are tailpipes, carpets and 3D printed door handles. Did not use AM grille as too fiddly. Did some more detailing today. The narrow braided hose was in the kit but frays terribly so sprayed it with hairspray and painted it aluminium with a Galherri marker. The thicker braided hose is Tamiya. The destructions would have you connect the transmission cooling hoses to the engine inlet...- Stefee

Further advances on the engine. Hollowed out the core (welch) plugs, added some bolt heads and painted numerous colours. Very light weathering and dry brushing. Dry fitted the exhaust headers and collectors - very happy with the welds but still not sure if too colourful, have to mull it over.- Stefee

Decided to leave the overscale drive belt well alone for fear of really damaging something so decided to bling up the pulleys a bit to divert attention. Starter motor, coil and water pump scratched and hollow backed alternator filled and detailed a little. Contemplating wether to make the auxiliary drive belt more realistic but will mostly be hidden when fitted.- Stefee
