Posting while I have the chance, I spotted SWMBO making a start on a new list this morning!!!! I managed to complete the lower rotor head, AND, without loosing a single piece. Mmm, most of the sprue frames I have are 2mm, and yes, luckily!! The frame around a couple of sprues from the Airfix S/K are 3mm!! Phew. Did some precise measuring today after another extensive search of the work space - nada!! After taping the push rods in place and pressure fitting the...- Waspie

What's on the Bench 2024
Well, I'm off the blocks with the Hobby Boss Helix. (1/48). In two minds to do a blog or not. May just post the odd pic. I have to say though - what a difference to the LF Wasp. Nice alignment marks. Some good detail. (They have even supplied electronics boxes for the racking - unlike Mr Airfix...- Waspie

I have spent the weekend and a portion of today attempting to assemble the flotation gear!! Every combination of fitting has been tried and still the flotation cans don't sit right - I surrender!!! Oh, I am still tinkering with the kit by the way. Just - not quickly. Primed a load of tiny parts yesterday and top coated today. Latest Acquisitions (2024)

It's the right colour for a later Wasp, (Post 1982), when the colour scheme was more a tactical dark grey blue with black numbers and lettering. Prior to 1982 Wasps, in fact most naval helicopters were more a blue grey rather than grey blue, (if that makes sense). Pics below. Pre 82 More blue...- Waspie

Pardon my absence folks. I took a break from the Wasp and then for some odd unexplained reason my ptsd kicked in.
