Si B’s Vespid 1/72 British cruiser tank A-34 Comet Mk 1A

I picked up some 3D printed figures without actually seeing them and it turns out they are pretty good for 1:72. They are from Peddinhaus and have some good detail including the straps on the binoculars, pockets on the trousers….fingers! Work on the Comet continued and the majority of...

Si B’s Vespid 1/72 British cruiser tank A-34 Comet Mk 1A

Good to have you along Scottie :thumb2: It is very nicely detailed considering the scale. I’ve built Vespid kit before and was so impressed I brought a few more. This is a Panther Ausf G…..I think:thinking: Always a seat reserved at the front for you John, next to the fire extinguisher...

Si B’s Vespid 1/72 British cruiser tank A-34 Comet Mk 1A

Last weekend I sat and cut out/cleaned up the main parts. I thought it was only the Germans that like a lot of wheels :surprised: Glued wheels and sprockets on last night. Added D shackles and telphone/first aid box. The smoke dischargers where moulded on and have PE parts to...

Si B’s Vespid 1/72 British cruiser tank A-34 Comet Mk 1A

Tidying up the stash the other week and came across this lovely looking little Comet and thought I had to get this built! I don’t remember buying it and was actually looking for a 1/72 Centurion. Found a couple of other Vespid kits in the attic I’d forgotten about that got my interest …looks...

ICM 1:350 WWII German Multi-Purpose Boat KFK Kriegsfischkutter

A Father’s Day present from my daughter, this great little ship has been really enjoyable. The first ship I’ve ever done and first seascape too. I’ll will admit that the idea of using a mackerel tin wasn’t mine.

    Si-B’s Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 10 Ausf. A + Dragon 10.5 cm leFH18/40

Thanks for your kind support gents :thumb2: So as was mentioned, the 5cm ammo boxes on the fenders were incorrect for the gun as I had decided to swop it. As the boxes had been mounted on to photo etch pieces, they came off quite easily….just had to use a little CA remover to clean it all up...

    Si-B’s Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 10 Ausf. A + Dragon 10.5 cm leFH18/40

The eagle eyed among you would of spotted the Sd-kfz 10 came with a 5cm Pak 38 but I had the 10.5cm leFh 18/40 in the stash and wanted to use that instead. It seems I forgot to take more pictures of the assembly :upside: It was a pretty simple build but Dragons instructions threw up a couple...

    Si-B’s Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 10 Ausf. A + Dragon 10.5 cm leFH18/40

We then move on to tracks. Lovely engineering on these and being Dragons ‘magic’ type they are all snipped and bagged ready for assembly. Used Revell contacta glue for its viscosity as the pad placement holds the links together and you need to be careful or the tracks won’t articulate...

    Si-B’s Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 10 Ausf. A + Dragon 10.5 cm leFH18/40

Gradually added more of the interior parts. There was some butchering careful adjusting needed for seat placement (see second picture) as the passengers side fouled on drive shaft parts….no big issue. At this point fenders and wheel arches went on. A bit fiddly requiring plenty of dry fit...
