Forgot to post these up. Excellent service from the shop as usual. The plants are excellent! Although I re-painted them, they would easily stand alone. Plenty in each box. Can be seen here...

    Jack's Bag End

A door has been wedged in and a bit more detailing added. Need some attention around the door frame. Hope you approve. Need to work out how I'm going to make window frames

    Jack's Bag End

    Some detailing work done.

    Jack's Bag End

Getting there. Took the pic with natural 'light' on a gloomy day. And final version I think:

    Jack's Bag End

4BO turned out to be the magic colour to lighten it just enough.

    Jack's Bag End

Layered up the greens dark to light. May be a bit subtle in the photos.

    Jack's Bag End

Been making some decent progress today. Mojo is nice and high! I would love some opinions on the wicker fence. It's very out of scale (along with quite a lot else) but I don't know of another way to go about it. It doesn't really conform to the fence posts like it should.

    Jack's Bag End

Using sculptamold for the first time and like it a lot. Much more suitable than the DIY products I've tried to use in the past. Next step will be lining the edges and then tidying everything up.

    Jack's Bag End

1st step is a scale sketch...I'm not doing the whole house as it covers a pretty large surface area, just the 'front'. I'll have to work out how to present the sides/back.

    Jack's Bag End

Well I sincerely apologise for the title, please don't use your imagination! I will be attempting to recreate a version of Bilbo Baggins' house under-the-hill, Bag End. I already think I may have bitten off more than I can chew!

    1950s Hampton Lovett

As part of a National Heritage something or other, my Dad was 'commissioned' to build a scale replica of the local church. He managed to find the exact plans of the building and with a small amount of input from myself, build himself a very passable model. Now he and one of his friends from the...

    What's on the Bench 2024

Well 'What's on the Bench' is quite a lot of liquid resin. Lesson learned on buying cheaper 3D printed figures. Unfortunately now outside of the returns window, and also a fume induced headache to go with.

    What's on the Bench 2024

Anyone know what this is? British armour stowage? No clue what it is, so no idea what to google for colour reference.

    What's on the Bench 2024

Some very late progress shots of the M10 Achilles. Very much a WIP with the interior nearly there, but all criticism welcome. Excuse the blotches on the floor...the fixer didn't behave.

    Behind the scenes at Academy

I was going to say I would have thought they would obscure the Tamiya logo from the glue and paints etc...but even more prudent might have been to remove the Tamiya and Tasca kits from view. :tears-of-joy:

    Latest Acquisitions (2024)

I've been building steadily in the background but not really felt like sharing them here for whatever reason. But taken a liking to 1/48 helicopters, with a Chinook waiting for paint. Managed this on a facebook auction for less than £30 delivered. Did have my eye on a Merlin too, but that went...
