Bought this at a pretty reduced price and jumped it up the queue as a change of scenery. Never done any wargaming or fantasy subjects before, but I do like Lord of the Rings so thought I would give it a go (and heavily inspired by @Tim Marlow‘s efforts). Thanks Jim. Think I have finally learned a bit of patience with this one! Today’s progress has been the exterior of the little railway shed. I have definitely gone over the top with the creeping shrubbery, but it’s to hide the texture of the foam board, and I like the effect so it’s staying...- Jack L

While the railway diorama has completely taken over the top floor of the house...there was just enough space on the coffee table to throw this together. Considering I'm usually a complete Scrooge until a couple of days before, I'm quite proud of myself.- Jack L

Thank you Tim. Thanks Scottie. I just managed to snap the door off! So other than breaking the stove, managed a little progress today: made a door. Not overly happy with the hinges, but they will do. All cut from pewter sheet. The ring on the latch stamped twice with two sizes of hole punch...- Jack L

Now that the train is done…I‘m starting to add the various parts of the diorama together. Lots still to do and add…but this will be the basic layout. Sorry some of the pics are rotated 90 deg…They are the right way round on my iPad, but not when I upload them.- Jack L

I think I’m happy…will add a little spilled coal on top of the tender, but other than that, done. A tricky beast to photograph…I may have to haul it (carefully) down the loft ladder where I can roam around and get the angles.- Jack L

Been back to have some fun with this. Meng Toon Tiger 1 with scratch interior. Not overly pleased with my painting, but been a fair few weeks since painting any sort of detail, so put a bit of it down to lack of practice. Wasn't great with a brush to start with! Heat Proof Tape
To paint the picture...I'm currently working at a printers, still not found anything long term since my redundancy last October. Anyway...they make wrapping paper, coasters, custom t-shirts etc. A special tape is used to keep things in place while under the heat press. Had a small brain wave... -

I'm not managing prolonged spells at the bench lately...so the train build is on hold. However in the little spats here and there...my madness is continuing to flow. The Toon Tiger now has a completed scratch turret interior and some sort of engine compartment. Still some tinkering to do in the...- Jack L

I've not managed much bench time lately...so today decided to go back to basics and build a toon tiger. An hour in, and I had a mid model chrisis...and found myself building a full scratch interior for it! Definitely lost the plot. Much of the direction and inspiration comes from @Steve Jones'...- Jack L

Thanks Jim. Can't believe I didn't see your cross section until This morning, now that is impressive! thank you Mark. Wheel paint fixed, decals added (so thin...they were tricky!!), and everything varnished. Next to begin the weathering. If anyone has any generic tips on weathering grey...- Jack L

Needed a break from the Monster Loco today, which takes up most of the bench, so in a small corner, had a go at a Verlinden 1/35 Red Devil I found very cheap on Ebay. WIP, but quite happy so far.- Jack L

This is certainly an endurance build! So construction is complete (apart from the smoke deflectors, which will be painted and weathered separately)…and painting pretty much there. I have made a pretty glaring mistake however. With the Eduard PE set, came some masks for the wheels. I remember...- Jack L
