Academy 1/400 Titanic
Finally finished my first ship. It went together very well and all PE and metal parts were a pleasure to work with, a pricey kit but a lovely effect with the LED (although not to everyone's taste I'm sure!) Thanks for all members that assisted and helped. Del- Del640

Well, 9 hrs later....this bloody ship is addictive!! I'm more than 3/4 way, mainly as I've spent a few full days on her.. It goes together so well, PE is applied to various areas, a lot of it you wouldn't notice, the rigging is very difficult (other than aircraft antenna I don't use cotton etc...- Del640

16hrs in and the wooden coverings for the Decks are now done, and my first funnel, the colours suggested are a tad strange, when I saw the funnels were to be orange I seemed to have black in my head do I've perused what colour pics I could find and it ranges from orange to buff and so on... ...- Del640

Section of upper deck, most of the PE is applied after construction.... I have to say the wooden decking is a right royal pain in the proverbial, however it's all almost done with no mishaps! Del- Del640

First wooden decking placed, it's purported to be pre cut but it isn't...fortunately it's pre marked so a fresh blade in my Swann Morton and away I go. Ok, so it would appear the LEDS are not working, strangely the part described 'power' is a metal pin the you thread part of the wiring through. There's no obvious on/off switch, it's all wired correctly but my gut feeling is that power button not doing whatever it's supposed to do. Any ideas?- Del640

Reluctantly removed a lot of decking this morning, I've left the stairs in as there is no reference to a replacement that I can see, I can and will remove them later if required though. LED strip's placed into hull (once I managed to unstick them from my fingers/eyebrows etc...the STICKIEST...- Del640

..that didn't take long for a confusing bit! : Instructions require me to remove these parts (and quite a few large areas of the deck) Problem is they're clearly stairs? The larger parts will require a proper cutter due to the amount and thickness so I've ordered a Dremel that I'll receive...- Del640
