And so the very long process of adding wires, pipes, brackets and linkages begins. This will take a while now. I'm trying to build up the layers of of it all in some sort of order so i'm not having to go back and add details that are under something else and risk breaking it.- AlanG

A little experiment. Just got some 0.2mm wires and wrapped them with 1mm tape and washed with heavily thinned Vallejo brown leather paint. Just wanting to see if i can create a wire conduit that the engine has. Looking ok so far.- AlanG

Got some metal paint finish down today. Sprayed the engine with Vallejo Semi Matt Aluminium. This give the outer body of the engine a slightly better 'worn' look imho. I've seen loads of engines done shiny and i don't feel that would be the case after being used a few times. I also over sprayed...- AlanG

SD Card for camera
My Sandisk 32Gb SDHC card has developed a crack in the body and is now not going into my digi camera. I don't want to force it and break it totally before i get all my photos off it. On looking on evilbay i see loads of micro SD cards with adapters to make the size of the normal SD card. Would... -

Think i've done 99% of the holes needed now. I'm waiting on some paint and filler to arrive from SMS (should be tomorrow) so in the mean time i have made a start on the various brackets, bell cranks, levers and pulleys. PE - Is this normal?
I've only ever really used pre-painted PE so i'm not sure about this set i have got. I've used one bit of it but it was like this when i opened it. Some of the bits still seem 'shiny' but the other bits look like they have corrosion/or acid on them. Is this normal for unpainted sets? Should i...- AlanG

Painting soldering wire
Is solder (lead free) wire easy to paint? And i'm asking that as in, will the paint adhere to the wire ok like it does with lead wire? Need to paint various 'pipe' on builds and it's WAY cheaper to buy solder wire in bulk than small amounts of lead wire- AlanG

This really is a slow process. The kit is obviously designed to certain tolerances and adding pipework probably wasn't factored into Revell's design remit. It is taking me about an hour just to get one pipe molded to the engine and around the other pipes. They are going over and under each other...- AlanG
