Help - Mr Hobby paint colours
Having problems converting Mr Hobby paints C20 - Light Blue and C73 Light Grey to Vallejo Air or even colour for my up and coming Russian Helix KA27 build. Huzzah!!!! At last I made contact with my SK!! (Thank goodness for family keeping SWMBO busy!!!!) I managed to successfully spray some clear green over the upper cockpit windows!! That led on to the fitting of the whole port access door prior to paint!! Feeling good, I then decided to continue...- Waspie

Post arrived this morning!!! New nippers as the current ones are real cheapies, functional but cheap. I said to myself if I was enjoying the building I would upgrade so here they are. Also a can of undercoat as I am less than impressed with the Vallejo Light Grey that I have been using. See... -

Question regards pre-shading.
Thanks Tony that makes sense. I ask as there is an area on the Sea King, the tail cone. It suffers from 'panting' where the skin of the airframe distorts slightly due to aerodynamic stresses in flight. I may be able to use the 'squiggle' method to replicate that!!- Waspie

Question regards pre-shading.
Need to upgrade my knowledge base. I'm fairly happy with the concept of pre-shading but what I am asking about is where do you apply the pre shading. IE to exact panel lines or to stress lines or what? Also chasing the colour of the pre shade. What determines the pre shade colour? Thanks in...- Waspie

Today's foray into the garage gave me time to get it more looking like an airframe. (Albeit a decrepit airframe but an airframe non the less). Just arrived, I guess I now have a 'stash'. A whole 1!!!! Impressed me as next to the U/C the rotor head has to be the a weak point - BUT. They supply a metal shaft!! More pics later - maybe!! (Wedding anniversary precludes any other activities today!!) Yet another helicopter!! -

Nope, it's not pretty but I do like the co-axial rotor set up. Beats having a tail rotor!!! Mind you, this is the one that worries me!! Intermeshing rotors. Two rotor heads sitting at an angle to each other and the blades going through each rotors path!!! If one gearbox fails!!!! I dread to... -
