Airfix HM Bark Endeavour 1/120
Time for a progress report on this sailing ship build. The hull was painted with Humbrol acrylic 186 above the rubbing strake and 70 below. All brush painted as I don't have facilities for spraying. Latest Acquisitions (2022)
Bought this 2002 book, brand new from Sarik (who usually sell R/C plans). Perhaps the book is dated by modern standards, but still makes good "bedtime reading". -

Set for release on 30th May is the Chesapeake Bay Oyster Boat from Atlantis kits of New York, USA. The kit was originally by Pyro and later by Lindberg. -

Revell 1:110 HMS Bounty
W.I.P. update - the model now has the "laundry hung out". The sails are the kit supplied plastic ones given a wash of acrylic white with a spot of ochre mixed in. Still to do - there is further running rigging and the swivel canons need gluing in place. I am unsure about the crew and the kit...- skinflint

Bird Watching a Relaxing Hobby
Used to get a couple of Sparrowhawks in the area a few years ago. Never managed to photograph them closely, I did manage this distance shot of the male back in 2017. Reading about them, the female is a much larger bird than the male and much more deadly.- skinflint

Thanks for all the good feedback, this model has been an absolute pleasure to build from start to present. No money has been added to the 'swear box' during the build! John, with the rigging, I tend to avoid super-glue on the knots as it doesn't give time to adjust the tension. Either plain PVA...- skinflint

The rigging has now been completed to the stage prior to fixing the sails in place. There is then some further running rigging, the swivel canons to glue in place and finally add the crew.- skinflint

Bird Watching a Relaxing Hobby
Ring Necked Parakeets (which have already been mentioned). Two were near us between September and November last year.
