    Changing Paint consistency

Does/Can paint consistency change mid use? Been painting the cremeweiss on the interior as show (Mig Ammo paint + vallejo thinner + vallejo flow improver, no idea what ratio), and for the majority, the paint was perfect. A really nice consistency, then suddenly the adherence to the primer became...

    Jack L’s Meng Toons

Sorry...more Spam. Wasn't very happy with the paint job on this one, but I think it passes after the weathering.

    Jack L’s Meng Toons

Thank you for all the kinda words and likes. I have turned over a new leaf with the bench...and it has to double up as a work from home space...so needs a tiny bit of order unfortunately. another one off the production line:

    Jack L’s Meng Toons

Might add some weathering and a sea scape to HMS Hood not quite decided yet

    Jack L’s Meng Toons

After a couple of months of zero interest in modelling, it’s creeping back! And the Toons are doing the trick...Inspiration and guidance from @Pete Low and tutorials from @Steve Jones have got me going again. Oh and a new modelling cave! Bit of a production line on the go.

    Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Modelling mojo yet to return, so when I saw this was being re-published, I put in an order. After a quick flick through, I'm fairly sure it will do the job!!

    Jack L’s 1/35 Sturmtiger. Mr. T GB

First off I would like to apologise for my complete lack of appreciation for everyone’s modelling efforts over the past few weeks. My mojo for most things in life at the moment is quite low, but includes bench time, and even time looking through the forum builds. I will try my best to catch up...

    Plastic Fit

Sorry...MIA for a couple of days. Been fighting off a migraine which affect vision in my left eye. Have managed a bit here and there before I go cross eyed, and think I have something that looks passable. A tarp WIP to cover the area that might catch the wrong attention.

    Plastic Fit

Thanks Allen. Tracks glued at all contact points with Road wheels, idlers and sprockets using TET. Painted post glueing. The tracks were a but of a pain and pretty fragile, hence I did it this way and built them off the tank for ease of painting.

    Plastic Fit

Yeah it’s a model, and I think you are right, I just didn’t pay enough attention. It wasn’t particularly clear from the instructions, but I think most German tracks are aligned like this: And I didn’t think it would be any other way. Completely my fault.

    Plastic Fit

Unfortunately made another balls up of this one. Applied the tracks as per this reference: To find out the outer edge (of the tracks) should be flush with the outer edge of the drive wheel, not the inner edge, as per this reference: Means now the side skirts will not fit, nor are the...

    Plastic Fit

Have tried various positions...if the photo’s will show... To fit on the upper edge, as I believe it should...There is a monumental gap on the side armour. Short...not just needing a clamp or two. To bring it forward to sit in front: The side armour fits flush: But...massive overbite at...

    Plastic Fit

After a bit of help with this one, The Amusing Hobby Panther II. Has been a fairly nice model up to this point, but I now find the upper and lower hull are way out. Not warped or distorted, just no where near fitting together. To get the hull lined up at the front (green), it is a mile out at...

Simon T Memorial GB: Nov-Feb 2020. Chat thread

I’ll be going for this. Simon built an incredible Tamiya version a few months ago, so I’ll be studying his efforts as I go through trying (And likely failing) to include some of his modifications.

SABRE 1/35 6 Axle 80t German Railway Schwerer Plattformwagen

Sorry for the delay in progress, but the second smaller wagon is now complete and it’s load well under way. I still don’t know what to put on the 6 Axle...I have a Sturmtiger, but think that would be better suited elsewhere.

SABRE 1/35 6 Axle 80t German Railway Schwerer Plattformwagen

Thanks again all. Your praise is very generous. I don’t think any modifications will be needed...it will be a very static model, so no need to amend anything to fit a certain track gauge. Will just need to disguise the two slight variations. I think the smaller wagon must have been Sabre’s...

SABRE 1/35 6 Axle 80t German Railway Schwerer Plattformwagen

Only just. Any pressure and they slip inside I think that is just the camera angle...This might be a better view: The two on their respective tracks: Smaller wagon on bigger wagon’s tracks: See when it is lined up on the left, the right side wheels only just has a purchase. It shouldn’t...
