Fire for Effect - 81mm mortar team. A 28mm vignette.

Thanks all. Been busy at work the last few days, but not much on tomorrow so I intend to tackle at least one of the wee fellas tonight. Undercoated in dark earth and ready for the off. Wish me luck!

Fire for Effect - 81mm mortar team. A 28mm vignette.

I got the paint brushes out last night and got the easy bit done - the mortar, greenies, bombs, barrel brush and a shovel. Figures next - painting MTP is a challenge to say the least! And then I'll tie it all together as a vignette.

Fire for Effect - 81mm mortar team. A 28mm vignette.

Hi all. I do apologise, I haven't posted anything for ages. So long in fact that my subscription had expired! I picked this up the other day; a modern British mortar team in 28mm from Empress Miniatures. It's made for wargaming but I thought I'd put it together as a little vignette. It's a...

Chota Sahib - 54mm Para and Casualty

Calling him done. I toned down his beret a tad. It was really far too pink, even for the Paras! :tears-of-joy: Possibly needs a coat of matt varnish.

Chota Sahib - 54mm Para and Casualty

Getting there! Face, hands and fine details left to do - badges, buttons and buckles mostly. And I obviously need to reattach the casualty's head. Think I might need to tone down the maroon lid too - it looks a bit vivid. Not sure.

Chota Sahib - 54mm Para and Casualty

Thanks chaps. That's the main colours blocked in. Battledress is Revell Dark Earth, maroon lid is Vallejo 926 Red, gaiters and webbing are 924 Russian Uniform, hands and face base layer is Revell Leather Brown and the base colour of the smock is a mix of dark earth, Russian uniform and white...

Chota Sahib - 54mm Para and Casualty

Hi all. Bit of a blast from the past. I think I painted this one when I was about 16 and reckoned it could do with a facelift. Before and after a dettol bath. I wasn't expecting his head to fall off though, and I nearly lost the Sten mag. Undercoated with Halford's best and the casualty's...

Airborne Jeep - a quick mojo restorer.

They were light blue for airborne units, black for vehicles in desert cam and white for everything else.

Airborne Jeep - a quick mojo restorer.

I was sort of working from home today so I cracked on and finished. Nearly went mad making the AOS signs (had to turn 79 into 67), bod number 4 wouldn't fit so there are only three crew now, and the census numbers should technically be blue. It required a wee bit of surgery to convert to an...

Airborne Jeep - a quick mojo restorer.

Getting there! Looks a wee bit better than it did this morning. Needs the tools adding, decals, a wash and a bit of weathering. And I've two bods for the back to paint yet too.

Airborne Jeep - a quick mojo restorer.

It has a bit! It's all there though. First two figures done - driver and commander - and a couple more undercoated. Haven't decided which commander figure to use yet - either Sten gun or map-case. I'll have to wait and see how they look.

Airborne Jeep - a quick mojo restorer.

Morning all. I've been stuck in the doldrums for several months but have finally dragged myself back to the bench. I've got the Airfix airborne jeep in my stash (more of that later), but for a quick mojo restorer I thought I'd rebuild a broken Matchbox jeep which has been in a box of bits for...

    Matchbox Humber

Hi all. I've just realised that it's been nearly a year since I was last on here, and even longer since I last posted a build. Far too bloody busy I'm afraid and lost my mojo a bit. I built this last November and haven't been at my bench since. Matchbox/Revell Humber Mk II, built almost out of...

    Flower Class Corvette paint schemes.

Wow! Thanks guys. There's some really useful stuff there. I haven't had a chance to make a start yet as been pretty busy at work. I reckon it'll be a good project for the winter! Salvia was definitely an early Flower with a short focsle, one of the first batch I think, so I may have to do a...

    Flower Class Corvette paint schemes.

Hi all. I've never built a ship before but recently picked up a 1/350 Flower Class Corvette from Mirage Hobby. I'd like to build it as a representation of my Great Uncle's ship HMS Salvia but there is only one confirmed picture of her. She was lost with all hands Christmas Eve 1941 and I imagine...

The Assault - 36mm Peninsular War vignette from Oniria Miniatures

Thanks mate. I start off with a dark reddish brown base (see below), then used Vallejo 860 medium flesh with a bit of flat red added to make it more pinkish, then 815 basic skintone as a highlight. Again with a dab of flat red added. It needs the red, they end up looking like the walking dead else.

The Assault - 36mm Peninsular War vignette from Oniria Miniatures

All done. Just needs a plinth when I can find a suitable piece of wood. It's a fun little piece. Little being the operative word too - 50p shown for scale! Painted up as the 88th Foot (Connaught Rangers) storming the breach at Ciudad Rodrigo, with a mad ginger bastard leading the way. Almost...

The Assault - 36mm vignette from Oniria Miniatures

Morning all and thanks for the comments! A bit more progress last night. Got the gurning Brit done and pinned in place. Just the ossifer to do now, and a bit of weathering.

The Assault - 36mm vignette from Oniria Miniatures

Morning all. Bit of progress. We've got an idle Frenchie having a kip behind his gun. Before he knows it the place will be overrun by rampaging Brits.

The Assault - 36mm vignette from Oniria Miniatures

Afternoon all. I forgot I had this. It's been in a baccy tin at the back of a drawer since I bought it over five years ago and I found it the other day when I was having a bit of a reorg. Thought it was about time it got painted up! All parts undercoated and a start made on the base. Figures...
