    British Universal Carrier Mk2 - Tamiya 1:35

Yeah, I watched a YT vid last night of a guy doing this kit and he put the legs in place first, then attached the front panel/bulkhead, then the body and arms went in later, it did look a tight fit?

    British Universal Carrier Mk2 - Tamiya 1:35

And straight in to the build proper..... Starting the chassis, and as I have the Eduard kit too, I'm having to cross reference across the two instructions, drawings to see what extra PE bits go where. I sort of have a love / hate relationship with PE. I love the extra details it gives. I hate...

    British Universal Carrier Mk2 - Tamiya 1:35

Was torn on deciding what to build next, but this one has been winking at me for a while, so its on to the British Universal Carrier, also fondly known as the Bren Gun Carrier. This is the Tamiya 1:35th scale kit, and I also have an Eduard PE kit to go with it. It comes with five figures, three...

    Happy Campers

Nice, another very atmospheric diorama. How did you do the snow? A basic description of how you do your diorama's would be great to know? and maybe help others....or how you decide what to build? I know I'm always looking for ways/techniques to try to improve my own Diorama's.... Cheers

    Redone my pc

Had to look that one up, looks like a modern version of the old classic "Elite" game, eg: sci-fi space, galaxy exploration/adventure/shoot em up, etc. My main game now is still Gran Turismo7 and GTA V, looking forward to GTA6.

    Redone my pc

Looks cool. Like the lights.... I used to build my own gaming pcs a few years back, did a lot of sim racing, etc, so was always upgrading, overclocking, etc. But then for gaming I switched to consoles, mostly PS3/4. Now I just use laptops, no desktops. But have just upgraded two of my laptops...

Mixing materials on a diorama base, be careful!

Yes, I should have realised this myself, as I was a Building Surveyor for 30 years, so know enough about expansion and contraction and varying drying rates and cracking in materials. When looking at cracks in buildings there is actually a "Classification of Cracks" table that can be referenced...

Mixing materials on a diorama base, be careful!

Just a slight warning tale, but I'm sure I'm teaching granny to suck eggs....! On my latest build, a small Desert Diorama with a ATMP x6 wheeler and Scorpion tank, I wanted a desert type or arid base type scenario. I also wanted tracks left in the base to show the vehicles use, etc. Its now...

Peters Desert Diorama - with x6 Wheeled ATMP & Scorpion tank.

Final pics of the completed build. NB: moved from the original build thread.... A small 1:35th scale of a desert/arid based diorama with two vehicles and some figures.

    Leopard 1A1.......Revell 1/35

Quick Google search says that they BOTH (CA and PVA) react to Lead in a similar way. PVA apparently has acetic acid which causes lead acetate, white powdery substance and expansion. CA apparently has sulfuric acid which then reacts and caused lead Sulfate, white powdery substance and expansion.

Desert Diorama - Featuring British ATMP x6 wheeler

This one is now done, destined for the shelf of completion, Lol... There is no proper back story, as such, to this one TBH. I just built the British x6 wheeler ATMP and I knew that I wanted to put it in a dio as soon as I started it, and as it was finished in the desert/sand scheme, I decided it...

    Nervous Newbie.

Hi mate and welcome, well that looks good. I'm similar to you, only started scale modelling again about a year ago. I too have a background in building, eg: plumber, then surveyor.....(y);)

    Book recommendations?

Yep, absolutely, I have a Kindle, but never use it, much prefer an actual book.
