What scale do you prefer most?
When I got back into the hobby I started on 1:72/76 just to get me eye in, as it were....and I still quite like that scale. But I am now really linking 1:35, you get so much more detail but they are not that much bigger, as storage once built is an issue for me. But, TBH I will build in pretty... -

Well I think this one is now done. Not 100% happy with the final sand weathering if I'm honest. It was my first time using lots of sand pigment and the pigment fixer. But really enjoyed the build, a nice kit and well made with not a lot of issues. Some pics....- pjgtech

More "stuff" acquired today. I do another hobby near Dartford on Sat's and there's a large model shop nearby (TJD), so thought it would be rude to not go and have a little look, and came out with theses few bits... Got home and realised I had already bought the rust pencil, so it was already in... -

I think the building looks a bit more dirty, dusty, sandy, and weathered now? Its pretty much done now, just got to add the border, which will be balsa wood strips, I've just primed them black then they will be stuck on with PVA.- pjgtech

Question for @John or other mods.... Can we not post polls on this forum? I don't see an option for it here? On a couple of the other forums I'm on too you can post polls to ask people questions, etc. It sometimes can be a useful tool to garner info on a subject or peoples opinions about things... -
The rise of Warhammer, et al, V "regular" traditional scale modelling?
Almost every model shop I go into now, and other related shops, eg: Hobbycraft, etc, all seem to be expanding their Warhammer type offerings, games, figures, vehicles, etc and at the same time floor space for what I would call "regular" or more traditional scale models seems to be reducing. For reference, photos showing not much "track slack" on the real thing. TBH, I think the whole track slack thing is a bit overdone IMHO, and if you look at photos of many tanks, they don't have much slack a lot of the time anyway. I think it adds to the "realism" but it certainly can be overused...- pjgtech

Had to get some shopping, eggs and bread, so had to go past my local model shop, so I popped in, as it would be rude not too.... They had loads on sale as they are being taken over by a new owner in a week or so, so picked up a few bits. This was down form £20 to an unwell Octopus (sick squid!)... -

Tracks now on, [Phew!] I ended up fixing the last two wheels on, made sure they were really well attached (last night). Then today I made up some small spacers (from lolly stick pieces stuck together to make small blocks), and placed them between the wheels, so when I stretched the tracks over...- pjgtech
