1/16 figure - Air Transport Auxiliary pilot

I agree. I'd be very happy to have produced either but the one on the right looks more natural.

    You can't park there mate!

Thanks gents. Much better pictures on their home site Tim! To be honest I've ordered some from ebay in desperation, to see if I could modify them. If that doesn't look possible once they arrive I'll go for one of the AB sets. Thanks again everyone for all of your suggestions. I'll pause this...

Thanks Paul. Seems like I wasn't looking in the right places!

Dspiae Orbit mini Drill/ Screwdriver (cordless USB)

That's a better idea then their grinder tool. Being able to fit the much more widespread 1/8" size bits (3.175mm ) should make it more adaptable.

    You can't park there mate!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like it so far. Brilliant Tim, just what I'm after I think. I'll have a better look later on a larger screen but they might be just the ticket, thanks.

    Kaleido part 2 brush painting

Thanks for that Bob, they look quite usable with a brush as well, especially if you managed 2 coats. That's the issue with lacquer I find, they are so "hot" that any attempt at a second coat just seems to wipe away the first!

    Kaleido paint review using airbrush

Good to hear that they live up to the hype so far Bob. I've seen a fair few car modellers trying them out and I can see why with that kind of finish from a less toxic paint.

    AS 42 Sahraiana

Lovely work on both of those Paul.

Thanks Jim. Sorry, I missed your reply at first as it was on the previous page.

    You can't park there mate!

I've made a start on the base. In the spirit of things I found some old polystyrene insulation in the shed. It's really messy to work with, but it'll do After a bit of chopping and hot glue it started to take shape but my room is now filled with hundreds of little balls that have stuck to...

    You can't park there mate!

I've seen him mentioned around these parts before but that's a good shout to drop him a message, cheers. Thanks mate, much appreciated. I'm afraid so 😂

    You can't park there mate!

I've now added the stowage & decals so this is ready for weathering now, which I'll do later to fit it's surroundings. What I'm really struggling with is finding suitable figures. I never imagined it would be so hard to find German soldiers that weren't in "action" poses, with weapons...

    You can't park there mate!

Thanks chaps I had my first test print started about 90 minutes after opening the boxes. Much more straightforward than I thought, but even more messy than I'd imagined. I'm putting a bulk order in for paper towels 😂 I'm slowly getting there with the paint job, give me an airbrush any day lol...

    You can't park there mate!

I've had a busy week but some progress has been made, painting the parts I might not be able to reach later, then cementing them in place. For a kit that fits together so well (apart from my previous mistake) I couldn't find any way to marry the body with the chassis, without surgery...

I've seen those pop up in a few places Bob and I've also heard good things. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on them.

Pre/Post Shading question with type of airbrush

Doesn't the evolution come with the pinch tip? Kinda like two prongs above and below the needle? If so, that can be removed to spray as you mention but there isn't much of an advantage in doing so, unless you are so close that it's hitting the model. Its design pretty much exposes the needle...

Yes, not something I'd try, except for a quick touch up here & there

Inevitable with laquers really. Although it's all relative. I find enamel & oil paints smell much worse, that's why I do limited weathering.

Yeah, Mr Color will always be my first choice but sometimes I have to shop around for a particular colour too.
