Hi All,

I've started looking at doing pre/post shading on my airplane models, I have a H&S Evolution 0.45 and 0.28 and have found it to be excellent.

However, while watching some YouTube videos on this subject I have noticed that they are doing it without an end cap with an exposed needle proving ultra fine control.

Due to the design of the H&S it cant do this but I was wondering if anyone has an idea of a decent airbrush that can do this.

Also, I accept that my own ability leaves a lot to be desired but I'm learning :)

I'm still using my old H&S Hansa 381 (0.3mm) and always use it with the needle cap removed, even when spraying primer. It only goes on when I put it back in the closset.

I also bought a cheap Fengda FE-183 (0.5mm) for varnishing, which also has a removable needle cap. Cheers

Doesn't the evolution come with the pinch tip? Kinda like two prongs above and below the needle?

If so, that can be removed to spray as you mention but there isn't much of an advantage in doing so, unless you are so close that it's hitting the model.

Its design pretty much exposes the needle anyway so that it doesn't affect the airflow like a large crown cap could, which is why some remove them for super close up work.
