Coventry & Warks IPMS - Midland Air Museum (28th June 2026)

Thanks! I'll pass on the message about the Rapide. What you can't see is that it doesn't have all it's decals. It's a brand new kit and yet as soon as my friend put the side ones in water they literally disintegrated! He's waiting for new ones to come from Ukraine. ATB Andrew

Thanks Joe. And you're right about the Tornado....it's interesting to hear his real life experiences vs the theory!

    Andrew's 1/48 Airfix Spitfire XVIII (A05140)

Ok chaps....so just a short update....canopy masking off. It looks like a bit of the wash somehow got under the canopy, via the canopy runner slots maybe but it doesn't look too bad. Since I took these I have assembled it and it's now finished. More pics to follow in due course. ATB Andrew

    Andrew's 1/48 Airfix Spitfire XVIII (A05140)

Ok chaps, so very nearly there. Should have this finished tomorrow. Today was weathering. For the most part, I simply used Flory washes, Dark Wash. Slap it on and wipe it off. The effect is not as obvious on an all metal finish because the black basing technique inherently leaves darker...

Andrew's Wooden Tower Bridge - in a day

That made me laugh....black under the eyes!!! 😂 It was surprisingly intricate and some of the other '3D puzzles' as they call them, look really good. Thanks as always for the support. Andrew

Coventry & Warks IPMS - Midland Air Museum (28th June 2026)

Hi all So a bit late, as this show was three weeks ago. For those that have not been, it has the benefit of being at a small museum, with a range of exhibits (mostly Cold War jets), including a Tornado GR1/GR4 that flew in the1st Gulf War.....but more about that later. It's not the biggest...

Andrew's Wooden Tower Bridge - in a day

Hi all So something a bit different..... So, I run a scale modelling group at the church I attend (have been for about 4 years) and normally we meet twice a month, on Monday evenings, but the first weekend of June we booked a room and had an all day session...starting at 9 and finishing just...

    Andrew's 1/48 Airfix Spitfire XVIII (A05140)

Thanks chaps, glad you like it and in hindsight the band isn't too far off is it.......I can just blame the ground crew for doing oversized markings!!! 😉😂 Tony - you're right about the Indian Markings. Eduard do a Tempest II that comes with both Indian and Pakistani markings....but it's a hard...
