I have been doing a thorough dusting of shelves and models along with a full clean up of my modelling room. I have also sorted out my displays and here is the B24 in its new permanent home. You can see how big it is with a 1/24 Hs129 and Raiden sitting under the wings!- BarryW

This is probably the largest injection moulded aircraft that you can get with its 42 inch wingspan. The main issue was with the size and the problem of working the kit without the extremities getting knocked around! Almost there … Only the front greenhouse to position with the guns inside. A bit of a delay though as I found that my non-fogging c.a. has dried up! I have got in with some detail painting. After masking up I sprayed the wing, tail and stab leading edges with steel. Also I sprayed the exhausts with Pale Burnt Metal then shaded them with Burnt Iron. These need some more work with washes and pigments. That will need to wait a bit...- BarryW

I have painted the Neutral Grey. As usual with something big, its best to work in small stages. Got there is the end. I managed all this on just one of the large cups of paint! Tomorrow there will be a lot of masking before doing the sand colour.- BarryW

Well everyone. This beautiful lady is now dressed up in her finest black lingerie ready to spray the underside Neutral Grey. I was right, there was a lot of seam work needed after the first black primer but now we are ready to proceed. This model is certainly taking a lot of spraying!!!- BarryW

A picture of the underside ready for paint. Sometimes, when spraying this one, I just have to accept that there will be overspray ‘escape’. Once finish I will go over everywhere with ipa to get rid of as much overspray as I can. The 1/32 Lancaster will seem small after this one.- BarryW

Only now, having fitted the lower wing section, can the sheer size of this model be appreciated with its 42 inch wingspan.
