Barry I am sure you will enjoy every minute of this. Just for interest my father worked in an intelligence section during WW II. One of the assignments he worked on was testing the security of Bomber Command's airfields. He and his team were assigned to infiltrate various airfields and to mark...

Dragon 1/35 M4 Mortar Carrier - finally completed

Dave Nice job on your half track. I have almost no stash left and probably will never build the two or three models that I have. Would you like this particular kit that I acquired some years ago but never started. It is still in its plastic bags and as you can see I have the full Voyager PE set...

USS Constipation 1/120 scale Imai long suffering build

Richard You may be suspecting that I am a bit of a sailing ship nerd. Anyway this is approximately how the yards are attached to the mast. At the top I have drawn the positions of the yards when the sails are removed. John

USS Constipation 1/120 scale Imai long suffering build

Richard I admire your patience, for this long job. Don't forget that the rope through the blocks should have a loose end that is simply coiled down on the deck. This is the rope that the gunners clap on to in order to run out the gun. you can see the loose end in this image. You will notice...

USS Constipation 1/120 scale Imai long suffering build

Richard Very creative way to build these blocks. They are always very fiddly and I hope yours work out. Just as a model here is one of my naval blocks. This is of course a double block whereas most that you need are singles. Also the strapping around this block is metal whereas the more common...

The beer cellar - in flats

Peter This looks like a very interesting challenge. I hope you don't mind but I decided to try to render your cellar in Blender. Not perfect but I think this could be a good use of this type of software to try out dio's and lighting. John

Richard These are of a very dusty HMS Unicorn I built some years ago. You can see how the rigging runs through two blocks, is fastened to the hull and the loose end is coiled down on the deck. Hope that helps. John

    The ultimate scratch building kit

Thanks for the interest guys. I am in steep learning curve mode with lots of experimenting. I have decided to make my man into a WW1 Tommy bust, just to see what can be done. So here is my next step with some hair and an approximate 1914 cap. Now moving on to some clothes etc. This is really...
