Brian I think you are further ahead than you think. A couple of levels more of shrouds, backstays, yards lifts, footropes , signal halliards and tacks and braces. Might sound a lot but should get through it well before Christmas. Good luck John- wotan

Hi Brian Very nice mouse and heart on the fore stay. I must say that I tended to cheat and make a mouse by just tying a reef knot and then seizing finer thread over the top. John- wotan

Hi Brian If you do pin the yards (which I think is a good idea) watch out for where you place the pins. The temptation is to space the top sail yard and the topgallant yard at roughly equal spacing up the masts however when the sails were not bent to the yards the top sail yard and the top...- wotan

Brian ever the perfectionist. By the way while talking about the futtock staves I wonder if those on the foremast are not a little too low on the shrouds. I don't have any measurements etc but they just look as though the futtock shrouds might be a trifle long. John- wotan

More great stuff Brian. I have always kept the lanyards as natural rope colour, they would certainly not be tarred since they were frequently redone and tarring would make them hard to work with. John- wotan

Hi Brian I would finish off the deadeyes. It will stop the foremast shrouds flopping about while you attack the main mast. It would also allow you to finish the FUTTOCK shrouds, below the foretop. John- wotan

Hi Brian I would go for something fairly thin perhaps 0.5 Don't forget that you also have the LANIARDS to rattle down the dead eyes. These are stopped off over the shroud seizing and would probably be a little thinner maybe 0.2 mm. You might try to give all your cords a good coat of bees wax to...- wotan

Brian In my opinion you should start on the shrouds next, at least the lower shrouds. The yards could not really be fitted before the shrouds are rattled down since they would get in the way. Maybe even simpler to start on the fore and back stays since they will give some practice before you...- wotan
