    Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc

Just leaving it all to dry for a day, then shake off any excess that has not stuck, and/or fill in any areas where it may need it, but I wanted it to be a "patchy" look, rather than full blanket coverage, as there will be lots of other ground cover, plants, etc.

Best material for base board on a diorama?

Thanx for the info, but its an old thread thats had some recent comments, my original Dio mentioned in the OP was built months ago. Still useful info though, so cheers. I tend to glue the foam board to either a balsa base or a ply base now, seems to stop most of the warping.

    Its too flipping Hot!

The aircon unit we got is good, from Machine Mart, I think its a Clarkes one, portable, but heavy, and has a ducted vent that has to go out a window. If you stand outside when its on it remarkable how much heat it throws out the vent! We put it in the dining room pointed towards the living...

Best material for base board on a diorama?

As above @MADTONY PBI = Poor Bloody Infantry and GB = Group Build, where people agree to all do a build (separate builds, not one build together) on a particular subject. So in the case above it a was a group build on anything to do with Infantry troops. Very enjoyable it was too, although my...

Yep, 32C here as well..... aircon has just gone on as the large fan in the living room, was just not doing it, so backup was required... (y);)

    Peters US GB Entry #2 - M113 ACAV - Tamiya - 1:35

A little update, not much TBH.... Added a couple of coats of flat white to the internal surfaces. My small amount of research stated that the Vietnam M113's had a white interior, whereas other scenario's had a light green, so obviously I've gone with the white interior. Might need another coat...

    Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc

Ok, so we have a little update, its too bloody hot to do much, I'm just trying to stay cool TBH! Been slowly working on the base. Trying to get a realistic jungle/mud type substrate. I always try to layer up the colours as most ground surfaces are not just one colour. Previously I had already...

    Its too flipping Hot!

Wow, one hell of a thunderstorm here last night, lots of lightning which seemed to be very close by, and some very loud thunder cracks and lots of "Rumbling" thunder which also seemed very close, and rain, well, lots and LOTS of rain, it was absolutely pouring it down in bucket loads! Great for...

Modern Goth movement started 70's post punk according to Google AI, (Bauhaus band anyone?) Original Goth's were Germanic and/or Scandinavian tribes fighting the Romans..... or summit. (y);)

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

1 x jar of Tamiya flat white XF2. Bit of research showed that some Vietnam armoured M133's (my current build) had a white interior, and I noticed that I'm almost out in my paint stash, so off to the local model shop.... and unusually for me, I just came out with the one tin of paint! (y)

    Its too flipping Hot!

How do you cope with the heat (or not)? Really don't like the heat. Once it gets above about 22-23 degrees I start to get uncomfortable. Living in the SE, (Kent) we do tend to get the worst of the heat, along with the South Coast and the SW. My model making area is our small back bedroom, which...
