Hi and welcome mate, Lol, your post pretty much mirrors my first one, when I re-joined the modelling fold about 18 months ago also after retiring, and I'm sure its a similar story for most others too. Changed my mind and did do a bit of internal weathering, just scuffing up few areas, wear on the seats, etc. The top body / chassis definitely needs another coat, its had two coats, but you can still see paint brush strokes, so I think one last thin coat should be an improvement.... The...- pjgtech

Vietnam Diorama - 1:35 - US troops/vehicles, etc
Last night I added the extra vertical supports to the base. This morning I primed up the jungle hut/checkpoint, (AK Black primer) left it for few hours, then it got its first coat of brown (Tamiya red brown). It will get several coats of various shades, slowly getting lighter, as I would assume...- pjgtech

Decided not to weather the internal space as TBH hardly any of it will be on show, even with few hatches open, as I may have figures at the hatches. Proceeded to add the two halves together, and did a bit of work on the underside, axles, spring leafs, added towing eyes, etc.- pjgtech

Ok, so decided to chop down the jungle watchtower, so its now a lot shorter. I think I'll use some of the off cut bamboos to add an extra vertical support to each side under the hut, in the middle of the two diagonal poles, which I think is how it would have been done. It looks a bit better on...- pjgtech

I did think about a larger dio, using several foam sheets and the US PBR boat, but laying it out on the base it is HUGE! The PBR alone takes up almost one whole A4 sheet of foam base board! so if I had one or two vehicles, plus a building or jungle hut checkpoint, plus few figures, plus water...- pjgtech

US Vietnam based figures in 1:35
It always amazes me how figures suddenly become more "Lifelike" or "Human" once the flesh tones have been added. They have all been primed and had a first rough flesh coat added, to be tidied up later. I have also started on the US uniform colours. The "Ladies" will be suitably brighter in...- pjgtech

Still not decided on what to build exactly, but was playing around with few base boards, laying out vehicles, etc, then I remembered I had a bamboo type hut from an old Airfix Frontier Checkpoint set. NB: I had previously used the little checkpoint hut and checkpoint barrier in my Poor Bloody...- pjgtech

Both inside and outside have had first coats now... Also highlighted some minor details inside, seats, steering wheel, pedals, etc. Will deffo need at least another coat on both. Think I'll weather the inside a bit too before sealing it all up with the top chassis/body...- pjgtech
