    What's on the Bench 2025

I went to the Shropshire Model Show a week or so ago. A good little show. Got chatting to a guy called Adrian Hopwood. A excellent figure painter. He has a website - www.bashmodels.co.uk. On a nearby table was a guy selling 3D figures and you know how it is :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO: I got...

    Jim R's Revell 1/72 Torpedo Boat, PT-109

Some progress (y) Lower hull painted Hull Red - not much will be seen. Upper parts MRP Olive Drab. The deck has had a coat of chipping fluid before the OD so I can create a bit of wear on the deck. Sorry about the very poor photos. Thanks for looking. England still in the World Cup (y):)(y)

BOATMANS B58 HUSTLER IN 148th scale with lights

Well Chris that undercarriage is one of the most fiddly bits of a build I've seen. You make it even more so by adding lights. So well done Sir, give yourself a pat on the back.

    what are you watching ?

Like Rich I'm watching The Tour de France. Watched The Giro earlier in the year and will watch The Vuelta in August. High spots of my year when it comes to sport.

Mitsubishi ki 51 ‘Sonia’ 1/72 Mania models finished

A wonderful result. Masking that canopy and the camo scheme - all credit to your patience and skill.

    Steven's Eduard 1/48 F6F-3 Hellcat

Great progress. A lot of adapting to display in flight. As has already been said the pilot is superb.

    Spitfire Mk.Vb (Trumpeter 1/24)

Sorry Steven, I missed the start of this but just had a catch up. Excellent work so far. The cockpit looks excellent. The pilot is spot on. We see very few 1/24 planes built. Probably because there are few kits available in that scale.

    Andrew's 1/48 Airfix Spitfire XVIII (A05140)

Well despite the issues it looks fine now. Pilot looks the part.

Andrew's 88mm Flak 37 (The Hunters and the Hunted)

Good to see this back on the go. I like the dio idea - that's a great photo to inspire you.

    BTCC BMW 320. Winkelhock

Always lots and lots of decals on your modern cars. Rather you than me but it does look good.

Mania models 1/72 mitsubishi ki 51 Sonia

Well Tony I've just had a read through as I had missed the start. I have learned a lot. I had never heard of Mania Models or that particular plane. As Pete said you certainly like the unusual. Great start. Cockpit looks great. Well done with the masking. Wing lights are a worthwhile addition...

MENG 1/35 Chinese ZTQ 15 light tank with cage armour

An eye-catching box although strange not to see a picture. I imagine it will be fiddly. Sign of the times that a kit contains 3D printed parts.

BOATMANS USS HORNET in 1/200 SCALE

Wow! That looks great. Bet you're still having nightmares with all those little planes. Well done Sir, a beautiful model.

    Jim R's Revell 1/72 Torpedo Boat, PT-109

Thanks guys for your posts (y) That recent very hot spell of weather put the kibosh on painting but now much better. Construction complete and all mounted up for painting. And that horrible to work with white plastic has gone under a coat of MRP grey primer :) Thanks once again.
