Model clubs, what exactly do you do?
I co-ran a model railway club for a few years, and the tea/cake/chat/demonstration vibe was what we aimed at. Worked very well, and I’m sure it would for a scale model club. The ratings given by companies are about a fifth of their actual test life I seem to remember, so that they are given a very good margin of safety in a professional environment. Correct seal is very important. I used these professionally for a number of years for handling acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. We used to undergo annual “face fit” tests to ensure we had the correct sized masks and that they sealed to the face properly. A simple home test for that is to...- Tim Marlow

I THINK IT'S TIME ?
My Iwatta is bottom feed in effect I think. The paint is drawn from the bottom of the paint cup. It is far easier to clean though because with the cup removed and the blank taken off the other side you can easily access the whole paint path in the body of the brush.- Tim Marlow

Personally I’ve never used a top feed brush Jim. I prefer a side feed cup because it’s easier to see the workpiece and the cup can be swapped from side to side to get better access. All air brushes will work, but some will work better than others. It seems like we all use different...- Tim Marlow

Andy T would be the man to ask here Bob, it’s his living after all. Personally I think an A1P3 filter grade with organic capabilities would probably cut it for you. 3M make them. Their half face respirators are excellent.- Tim Marlow

That’s a bit strange, but I suppose if the hip joint is in good condition then it doesn’t need replacement. I was about 62 when I first went to the GP with this and was given physio because it “wasn’t bad enough”, but I think that was age related and I was considered too young.- Tim Marlow

Cheers guys. Op now done and it only hurts when I laugh, or bend, or move in any way LOL. Pain was high to start with, but is gradually reducing thanks to industrial strength painkillers.
