Franco Prussian war French artillerymen. 30mm flats of unknown origin.

Had this for Christmas and have just finished it… Best way I can describe it is like a 3D jigsaw puzzle that uses glue…. Comes out nicely though and certainly made a change. Quite a cartoony Ghibliesque Manga feel to it, but I like it. Looks good illuminated as well… I think I’ll try...- Tim Marlow

The V3000S now has its body and wheels on….. I’ve redone the swept areas on the windows as well. Much happier now. Slowly working the V3000S up. Basic paint now on, decals on, and weathering underway. Going for a dusty finish on this one…. V3000S has now moved forwards a bit. Primer and preshade with NATO black now on. Next is top colour and highlighting. I haven’t bothered pre shading the chassis. By the time it gets paint and dust there would be nothing left to see.- Tim Marlow

Recommend me a scribing tool.....
I use an eclipse metal scriber. Had it for at least thirty years and never had to resharpen it. It’s also great for pop marking plastic before using fine drills on it, marking out parts on sheet metal, and scribing plank lines. One of these…. Model E222 apparently. I also sometimes...- Tim Marlow

Slowed down a bit recently. I gloss varnished the airframe with Klear, and got a pebble dashed finish that seemed to be a little water repellent when applying decals. The decals therefore needed many coats of Micro sol to try and get rid of the bubbles…..there is still a little silvering, mostly...- Tim Marlow

Well, basic colours are now on…. Very slight overspray on the bulge below the yellow will be dealt with during detail painting……yellow was easy, pre sprayed with flesh colour first….a trick I learned on the little blokes….. Quite happy with the mottling for a first time…..the V shaped blob...- Tim Marlow

Blue bits now done and masked off…..forgot to take pictures :( Ready for the camo stuff, then off comes some of the masking (wing undersides are also masked) then it’s on to the mottling……🙀.
