    Sprue goo?

I've had some in an old Mr Color paint bottle for a number of years. It thickens up over time as the solvent evaporates but I just add more TET when needed. If I remember correctly I made half a bottle and it'll probably still be going long after I'm gone.

    It's a monster 😂 Best of luck

Pesky dust and blowing it away

I know what you mean Bob, my paint jobs are definitely cleaner since moving out of the shed. There's less spiders in them anyway 🤣

Pesky dust and blowing it away

A valid point Tim - there's no point just blowing the dust somewhere else. I tend to have my extractor running and aim the dust towards it. Hopefully that should do the trick in getting rid of it. Also, I only do this for the final bits, before wiping with a tack rag. Any sanding dust gets...

    The full skyline collection.

That's a lot of Japanese muscle in one place!

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Thanks Jim, I think that'll be the best way to tackle it.

At what point is your "stash" getting out of hand?

I'm trying to stick to that as much as possible! I have a couple of extras hanging around that I bought but didn't like the looks of once I'd opened the box, but after about 6 years in the hobby I've not let it drift into double figures very often.

Pesky dust and blowing it away

Certainly looks the part Bob but I've no idea how they perform.

Pesky dust and blowing it away

Something like that might work, but I'm not sure how much puff they have.

I've got a bit further today and have put the body in initial primer to show up any imperfections. There are plenty lol The worst are two huge sink marks right on the front panel. I couldn't see them in the clear plastic but they stick out like a sore thumb now. I'm not sure I'll be able to...

    Water washable resin

I probably am myself, but I'm lucky to still have a youth knocking around the house 😂 I reckon Thomas will use it 90% of the time, but it'll come in very handy for me at times. One of his best mates is studying 3d modeling at Uni, so that side of things is covered too.

Pesky dust and blowing it away

A junk or broken airbrush should make a decent blower, I use one that came free with my first compressor. You may need to crank the pressure up.

Masking fluid, how to remove from brush?

Vallejo themselves say to clean up with soap & water after use, but do note that if you leave it to dry on a brush it will be very difficult to remove.

    Water washable resin

Thanks for your insight Lee and Neil. To be honest I thought WW resin would make life much easier, but the more I research, the more blurred the lines become. I'll be getting a wash & cure station anyway (either combined or separate, still undecided) so I might as well start with IPA cleaning...

Amy Johnsons de Havilland dh60g Gipsy Moth 1/72 completed

Brilliant Tony, that's come out very well indeed, and Amy looks quite pleased too.

    Water washable resin

Thanks Steven, I hadn't thought about it that way. I'm aware that it still needs treating carefully but I guess I'd naturally be even more cautious if other chemicals were involved.

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Thanks Jim and Joe. Yes, the KFS kit looks very nice but I wouldn't dare butcher something with that price tag!

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Hard to say Paul as none of the many images are credited. I recognise the ones of Scotties work, but the rest could be anyone's.

    Land Rover FC 1/76 kitbash

Micro surgery time 😁 Whilst I was away on holiday this AI image popped up and it piqued my interest So I hatched a plan to build something based loosely on it. A quick search showed that the 101 only seems to be available in 1/76 from Airfix or 1/24 from Kit Form Services. Since I'm still...
