Snap! 😁 I've been too busy sniffing glue to have more than a flick through, but there's plenty of good stuff to look at inside.

    Latest Acquisitions (2026)

Just back from my holiday to find these little beauties waiting for me: I love a good kitbash and regular viewers may already have an idea where I'm going with this, but if not, here's an AI image I stumbled across that got the juices flowing Should be fun at braille scale 🤓

    Going awol

Good to hear that things are on the up Paul. Have fun with the decorating, and even more sorting out your new cave! Are you thinking of a simple floating floor?

    Water washable resin

As some of you may know I've been pondering a resin printer for some time. With their prices falling they are looking even more feasible, and the better availability of water washable resins makes it seem a much less chemical heavy pursuit than cleaning with IPA. My question is, does anyone...

    Lilac Lion Cub

I've just received some WIP pictures of how this is coming along in the hands of the kids. Very artistic I think!

It's a great tool Peter. It doesn't have the guts for heavy work but is really handy for light stuff, and gets a boost if you use it plugged in.

    Tamiya mazda roadster

Unfortunately the early ones rot faster than you can patch them up 😂 Last year I did a full resto on one for my best mates son. I really put some effort into it but he only had it on the road about 2 months before a taxi pulled out on him and wrote it off 🙄

    Andy's Spitfire trio - 90th Anniversary GB

Thanks very much Ian. Looking around my display shelves almost half are aircraft these days. Maybe I need a rethink 😂 I'm definitely thinking about the larger scales too, it's the price of them that's putting me off 😕

    Masking help

Looking at the instructions on scalemates, there's a canopy masking set included in the box. That's probably why you can't find an aftermarket one. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/9/2/5/1521925-70-instructions.pdf

    1/32 Revell 1956 Cadillac Eldorado

It looks to have been one heck of a challenge Jim but the car has come out great, and the glamorous couple really add to it.

    Tamiya Schwimmwagen 1/35

Cheers Steve, I'm glad you like it.

    Brushes.

I tend to buy cheap multi packs from The Works or similar for dirty jobs. The vast majority of my brush work is done with Pro Arte Acrylix 202 series as they are durable, reasonably priced and keep a decent point for a synthetic brush. For really detailed stuff I have a few Rosemary & Co 93...

    Airfix 1/72 Beaufort

That's a beauty! Easily mistaken for a larger scale I'd say.

    HELP

Too cheap to say no, and free postage too! Thanks.

    Tamiya Schwimmwagen 1/35

Thanks Chris. Tim, I have tried graining with oil paints before now but you know me, far too impatient to wait for them to dry 😂 I didn't mention it but you can probably tell from the picture that I chopped the brush down, giving random length bristles.

    Tamiya Schwimmwagen 1/35

Thanks Steve and Peter. The camo took a bit of time, backwards & forwards between the three colours to clean up the lines. If I ever do another I'll leave the seats out until after spraying. I didn't mask the interior so they needed touching up afterwards.

    Tamiya Schwimmwagen 1/35

Thanks Tony. Looking at the instructions on scalemates this version has quite a few more parts. I might look out for an older one and do a side by side.

    Trying a new paint

That's the problem I have with using real car paint from work - the flakes are generally too large.
