Tamiya, what have you done this time?

Like Tony said indeed, looks like they wanted to show that "XXX" patern in the middle of the tread, which can't be done with the usual mold. People that buy the kit for that level of detail then add a ton of mud onto the wheels... xD

Anusha 1/10th scale bust, Pedro Fernandez Works

Very interesting to see you deal with the lighting effect Paul, seen some figures with this effect in a magazine once, very cool but takes a lot of skill to get it right. You're definitly on the right track, have fun 🕯️

Boatmans 1/200 scale USS HORNET CV8 BUILD AN LIGHTS for the Doolittle raid on japan

Perhaps the soldering iron was a bit too hot? A dremel tool could also work, with a very small/thin grinding disk if you have that. Or some other very small grinding bit.

Boatmans 1/200 scale USS HORNET CV8 BUILD AN LIGHTS for the Doolittle raid on japan

I think I saw someone cut fragile sprues like that with a heated knife, that way there's no presure on the vertical stabilizer, you melt it through as far to the right side as you can, then afterwards cut the last bit of the tail with a sprue-cutter. Goodluck, the planes are looking good (y)

    Tamiya Stratos

Would be hilarious if you could add a Goth figure to one of your cars one day, you already are an expert at car-finishes so why not try adding another skill to your belt  The Stratos is looking great so far Andy (y) have fun

    Steven’s 1/48 Spitfire Mk.IIa

Thanks guys, Had to wait a bit for the oil filter to dry, today added a 'Vallejo polyurethane gloss varnish'. I'm always struggling to get the right finish, bit more on the 'satin' side. Lowered my air-pressure a lot and sprayed very close but it's like the over-spray-area kills the gloss...

    Workbench, show us yours

Always nice to have a look at another bench :coffee: This is my zen corner, most of the paint and stuff is stored in the closet on the left (which doesn't fully open with the bench in the way). At the moment I'm sorting my paints - 3d printed those black trays to group paints like 'RAF'...

    Gary's Academy 1/48 scale Wildcat F4F-F

I used thin needlework thread for many years, but then bought one time 'ammo .02 rigging wire' which I like very much, it stays a bit elastic so the wire don't start to sag over time.
