    Hms Cornwall 1/350

My paint arrived so back to the build, cranes and a few other bits painted and an oil wash applied, bit more clean up to do. The rear mast was moulded a bit wobbly and was very flexible, was never gonna take any rigging without bending all over the place so i decided to have a go at scratching...

    Aoshima 1/700 ijn Mutsu.

Finished this at last, this is my second 1/700 ship and first go at etch detail at this scale. Hence the railings being a bit untidy in places but there is probably easier ships i should have tried for a first attempt . Anyway, a nice kit if not totally accurate, etch railings, crane and catapult...

Got some red on the hull, probably should have been a bit of a brighter red but its a big improvment on what trumpeter would have you paint it which would have been cocoa brown, more suitable for jap ships. Im gonna try to weather it, once i checked out some utube videos anyway ;)

1/200 would be a challenge Chris but mine is the tamiya new tool 1/350! This is how many i got to do,each one needs a hole drilled to fit them. And heres how big they are.

A quick update,so this is the first time ive really put any effort into weathering a deck and the first time ive ever used oils so im pretty happy with the outcome albeit i still need plenty of practice, think ive given it the greyish worn look and took the edge off the tan. I mixed a reddish...
