    What's on the Bench 2025

From a recent order from John, my attempt at a couple of Berlin Brigade vehicles. Looks a bit dark in the photos. A glue blemish on the side skirt to fix on the Chieftain. Any 80s/90s Tankers on here advise me on modern 'peacetime' CITB? The side storage baskets look very empty. as a side note...

    What's on the Bench 2025

I've managed to misplace the windscreen, but this has been fun to build ICM Chernobyl Fire Engine. A good well fitting kit but very delicate. I've lost count of how many ham hand repairs I've had to make

The Border Models 1/32 Lancaster BI/III

Just had a watch of a youtube build, and although the guy doesn't mention it at all, he has definitely cut out the wing spar.

    What's on the Bench 2024

Something I've always wanted to do: Base coat is more or less there. Some touching up to do and then weathering. Like a moron, I've forgotten the PE railings I've bought, so I'll have to be really careful with the CA. Having never done a 350 vessel before, I bought something cheaper to...

    Jack's Bag End

I think I'll call this done. Thanks to the few of you that have followed, offered your compliments, critiques and suggestions. It has been much appreciated. And thanks to peterairfix for hosting the GB.

    Jack's Bag End

Andy T thanks to you, the windows are done and I'm overjoyed with the results. Bit of tinkering done here and there as well

Andy you might just be a genius. I had tried bending plastic strip but couldn't get it to stick end to end, but by rolling much thinner plastic strip in a couple of layers...there is surface for it to adhere to itself, without getting too thick!!! Good shout for the glass too! Thank you mate!

I've also been practicing squiggles that look vaguely like writing. A long way to go there

    Jack's Bag End

Not spent a huge amount of time on this with work and a busy weekend, but been tinkering here and there. I don't think I'm happy with the window frames. But I'm also not entirely sure how I'd do them otherwise. Being circular, I can't make (I don't think) an outer frame, and I also don't think I...

    Latest Acquisitions (2024)

A special one that definitely deserves a mention. Huge thanks to scottie3158 who has sent these to me free of charge and wouldn't even let me pay for postage. Funds are tight at the moment so this amazing gesture will allow me to try my hand at something completely new. And Verlinden work...

    Latest Acquisitions (2024)

Forgot to post these up. Excellent service from the shop as usual. The plants are excellent! Although I re-painted them, they would easily stand alone. Plenty in each box. Can be seen here...

    Jack's Bag End

A door has been wedged in and a bit more detailing added. Need some attention around the door frame. Hope you approve. Need to work out how I'm going to make window frames

Getting there. Took the pic with natural 'light' on a gloomy day. And final version I think:

4BO turned out to be the magic colour to lighten it just enough.

    Jack's Bag End

Been making some decent progress today. Mojo is nice and high! I would love some opinions on the wicker fence. It's very out of scale (along with quite a lot else) but I don't know of another way to go about it. It doesn't really conform to the fence posts like it should.

    Jack's Bag End

Using sculptamold for the first time and like it a lot. Much more suitable than the DIY products I've tried to use in the past. Next step will be lining the edges and then tidying everything up.
