    First model in 35 years

What other models do you have? and what do you like building, eg: WW2, civilian, vehicles, planes, etc?

    First model in 35 years

Plus putting a gloss coat on after painting, helps to seal the paint before any weathering, eg: washes, panel lines, etc are applied, as often these are enamel, whereas usually paint is acrylic, so need to be aware of that too, chemical reactions, etc! Lol, lots to remember....

    First model in 35 years

If you put decals straight on the paint, without a gloss coat, they can "silver" or not adhere as well, so putting a gloss coat where the decals go helps with that. If you don't seal the decals afterwards they can come off via rubbing, etc. So then a final varnish coat, usually matt, helps to...

    First model in 35 years

Cool, I'd be well happy with that, mate especially if its your first model for many, many years! NB: You can add photos directly to the site here, makes it easier for others to see the photos. Just use the attach files option at the bottom of the message area. Looks a tiny bit shiny in the...

    Scary Moments

Bloody Ell, she must be a keeper! I tend to do most of the cleaning in our house! But my Wife does other stuff TBH, we sort of split the chores.... My Wife knows not to touch anything in my spaces, eg: study, garage, garden shed, etc, but I also know not to touch her stuff, so it all works...

    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

Did a bit more research, and I now see that you can get chuck adaptors, which means you can then use any size bit/attachment with the grinder, so can use it for sanding, polishing, etc. Eg: 3mm shaft chuck adaptors... Some on Ali X, but very cheap so doubt quality would be very good IMHO. Tyrrel...

    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

And one last update, did not say on the box, but a quick Google shows that the three speeds for the Dspiae grinder are: 5000, 10,000 and 18,000rpm With a 300mAh battery and a 10w motor. Cheers

    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

Quick update on this, I just checked using some of my Dremel clone bits, that the collet on this Dspiae mini grinder will NOT fit most Dremel type attachments, as it looks like it's exactly 3mm, and most Dremel type bits are just over 3mm, eg: 3.1 or 3.2mm so they will not fit. However, there...

Dspiae Orbit mini Drill/ Screwdriver (cordless USB)

Quick update on this, I just checked using some of my Dremel clone bits, that the collet on this Orbit drill will fit most Dremel type attachments, as it looks like it over 3mm, (possibly 3.1 or 3.2mm). However, as its quite low speed, (box says 240rpm without load) its probably not gonna be...

    Dspiae mini cordless (USB) Grinder

Hmm, I have a Dremel clone (think I got it from Lidl or Aldi), maybe a Parkside model? and have lots of bits for it, I'll see if they fit....

    A tale of three Tiggers.....

When I first got back into scale modelling one of the first taster/tester kits that I built was an Airfix starter set of a German Tiger tank, in braille scale (1:72). Then a while later I bought a set of very small (1:144 scale) tanks from Temu, (or was it Ali Express?) which included a little...

    AFV Club Tiger I - 1:48 - Completed.

Really enjoyed this one TBH, nice kit, no real issues apart from my own two stupid mistakes, putting exhaust baffles on upside down, and also putting the Mantlet on the wrong way round [Doh!], but both were easily rectified. Here are the final pics, and a link to a short YT video of the...

AFV Club, Tiger I, Panzerkampfwagen VI, 1:48

Calling this one as now done. ;) (y) Few final pics then I will put up a Completed thread.... Came out quite nice, I really tried not to overdo the weathering this time, still not great, but every model I'm getting a little bit better. Slowly learning that less is more, etc.... :) Last...
