There is a slight bit of texturing on the kit part dave but I think the camera has added to it a bit too . It doesnt look like that in real life . The camera on this new iphone 16 pro is too clever for its own good - it alters the images sometimes without asking , very annoying , and the makro...- yak face

This has now had a first coat of Klear to seal the paint and will be getting another to give a good base for the decals. Ive started painting Amy , just a bit more work to do round the face and the goggles . Once ive got the decals on then its time for the rigging and control cables !:eek:- yak face

Tonys Italeri 1/48 Spitfire mk XVI
Its now had a light panel line wash and a couple of coats of varnish to seal everything in . The rear view mirror has been fitted , not the kit part but a nail art gem which has the shiny silver back . Next up is some exhaust staining and a bit of light chipping then the cockpit can be unmasked...- yak face

I know these are old toolings and been done a thousand times but they have always appealed to me so I finally gave in , they were both very reasonable prices (£ 10 and £11) . The figures will give me a bit more practice , which is going to be needed as ive also just got a couple of bigger resin... -

Decals now on . Although printed by Cartograf - usually a guarantee of a trouble free application - they were a bit of a nightmare . I dont know if they were old or what but they took absolutely ages to release from the paper and the smaller / thinner ones were prone to breaking up. I started...- yak face

Before the airframe got the second coat I remembered I had to drill out the channels for the elevator cables and make and fit the rudder actuators on the fuselage sides . I also drilled the rudder and elevators so I could fit the control horns . The aileron actuating cable and horn were added to...- yak face

Started painting yesterday . After looking at the colour of the actual aircraft , I had to mix up something . A few tries and to my eye it looks about right . I decided to brush paint , its only a tiny thing and it will save a tricky masking job , plus thats probably how the aircraft was done...- yak face

After masking off the engine and cockpit its now had a coat of primer , it will be painted up as is with the top wing going on last off . Ive yet to find a green ( in my paint stock )that matches the photos of the actual aircraft in the science museum so may have to mix something- yak face
