Tonys Italeri 1/48 Spitfire mk XVI
Time for the green to go on . I know the early war spits and hurricanes were painted with rubber mat templates so had a hard edge on the camo but the later war ones look to have been sprayed freehand and have a soft edge -so blu tack at the ready . Beautiful job Colin , the paint is lovely and it looks great with those big 50s roundels . The griffon engined spits manage to look powerful but elegant at the same time , love this , cheers tony- yak face

Nice one lee , like yourself Ive fond memories of these Revell kits , dont know if you had the collectors choice series over in the US with their 3 in 1 decal choice but I used to get them regularly , loved them .- yak face

Great work steven , as Joe says the Eduard decals are really weird , I get where theyre coming from - trying to minimise silvering but the whole peeling off operation is fraught with danger and often results in damage which has to then be touched up . Ive read its possible to just use them as...- yak face

Great display Alb , fantastic models and setting . Excellent range of aircraft too , loving the 1/48 Vigilante and Skywarrior , and thats only the second J10 ive seen built ( the other one was mine !) cheers tony- yak face

FROG 1/72 de Havilland DH 60 g Gypsy Moth
Got the wings on this morning, once slid over the brass rod and superglued they were gently bent up to the correct angle . Ive also got the undercarriage glued , the axle being replaced with brass tubing for a bit more strength , wheels to go on last off . The tailplane and rudder were fitted...- yak face

Great stuff paul , I love to see figures like this and have really struggled with the faces on the few ive done ( albeit smaller , Airfix 54mm types) but I still want to give it a good go so have ended up with a couple of larger resin figures , I might be picking your brains in the near future ...- yak face

Joe's Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk1
Looks excellent joe, wing roots closed up nicely . You would think that more manufacturers would use a rigid spar system to ensure the correct dihedral on spits as its so easy to get one wing higher than the other or a too flat profile .- yak face

1/48 Monogram Huey Hog (1977 Edition)
Excellent stuff robert , the base and chopper are fantastic , loving the little stream . I really love the good old Monogram kits , for their time the detail was superb and they still hold up today , ive built quite a few and will no doubt do more . Cheers tony- yak face

FROG 1/72 de Havilland DH 60 g Gypsy Moth
Fuselage now together and seams sanded , just a couple of sink marks to sort yet . The lower wings fasten to the fuselage with a couple of tiny pins - not a strong fixing at all , plus they need to have a slight dihedral to match the upper wing so the interplane struts meet . I decided to drill...- yak face

Very strange andy , the only reason I can imagine is to avoid having a seam line round the circumference of the tyre tread? But then again they have replaced this with five seams across the tread ?- yak face
