    1/1 paintwork

Great stuff andy , love to see this please post more . As my first ever job was a YTS scheme at a bodyshop that turned into an apprenticeship as a sprayer ( sadly cut short after a year when the company went bust ) this really takes me back . In fact I think the skills learned in that year have...

    Eduard Lavochkin la7 1/48 completed

Tell me about it joe ! It took ages - i’d glue the lower one on first then as soon as i put a drop of superglue on the aerial to do the upper one the lower one would come off .

Just caught this one , fantastic work . The paintwork fading and staining is superb , youve captured the way the olive drab used to weather and mucky up perfectly , love it , cheers tony

Tonys Italeri 1/48 Spitfire mk XVI

A bit late to the party but now the Typhoon and La 7 are done I can clear the decks for this . Got this at a bargain price , its a rebox of the Occidental kit which itself was a revision of their earlier mk IX kit . Its had some scathing reviews questioning the accuracy etc but I’m not worried...

    Eduard 1/48 Lavochkin LA7

Last few bits now done. Canopy unmasked and fitted , aerial ,wire and pitot added and nav lights painted with Tamiya clear red /green . I’m very happy with the result , especially as the build was pulled out of the fire earlier on ( almost literally !!) . Heres a few to finish the build log and...

    Marking camouflage before starting it

Stevens nailed it , the thing is dont sweat it if your camo pattern is not exactly the same as the instruction sheet . As above ,the instructions are often only a vague representation , as long as its somewhere near then youre ok and looking at period photos of the real thing will show many...

    Eduard 1/48 Lavochkin LA7

The lavochkin is now standing on its own two feet ( wheels) and the exhaust staining has been applied . The staining has a particular pattern with stripes on the steel areas which I managed to achieve but arent very visible at the moment in this lighting. The La 5 and La7 both had prominent bare...
