There's another sign of senility but I can't remember what it is... Pete

    Rembering Ron.

Well, Ron did like railway locos didn't he, so I've started this in his honour. If anyone feels it's inappropriate I don't mind if it's moved. No glue or paint needed, so I might actually finish it in a reasonable time. After the first afternoon's work I had this: which looks like good...

Boatmans 1/200 scale USS HORNET CV8 BUILD AN LIGHTS for the Doolittle raid on japan

I always thought it stood for Silent But Deadly, but that must be something else...;) Those aircraft are looking great Chris, in spite of their small size. Pete

    Pete's Magic Wand shop

Thanks for all your kind comments. I was getting frustrated with it, because I'd thought it would be a reasonably easy build with my shaky hands, but it wasn't! Very few of the parts have any positive location so they just need to be glued in the right place, which I suppose is proper...

    Rembering Ron.

Sadly I'll have to bow out of this - a great idea but I have no experience of dioramas or vignettes. I'll dedicate my next build to Ron anyway. Pete

    1/1 paintwork

In my rallying days I was often surprised at the state of some people's cars - sills stuffed with newspaper and skimmed with filler was not unusual. One nearly killed me once; I was navigating for a chap with a Corsair with what he described as a Stage 3 engine. He claimed to have fitted a strut...

    Pete's Magic Wand shop

Well, here it is at last. Certainly wasn't an easy build but possibly worth the effort. Any Harry Potter fans out there? Any questions, please ask. Pete

    Pete's magic wand shop

Well, at long last it's finished. I didn't enjoy this build much - I have another identical kit that I'd be happy to sell. Here's one photo; I'll put up a Finished thread later. Pete All comments welcome.

    Update on Ron

Very sad news. Ron's humour, as well as his modelling skill, will be much missed. Condolences to Justine and the rest of the family. Pete

Paul T's Spitfire mk Vc...... Airfix 1/72

    Eduard Lavochkin la7 1/48 completed

I finished painting a 1/72 Eduard La-7 a few years ago, and left it in the garage for an hour a yard or so away from a fan heater on its lowest setting - the undercarriage legs warped. It looked as if it'd had a very hard landing! I wonder if Eduard were using a very low melting point plastic...
