    1/48 ESCI Henschel hs 129

Good solutions to tricky problems Tony. It’s a funny old beast but you can see how the Warthog evolved from something like this - stick a big-ass gun up front and blow tanks up.

    Geoff’s 1/48 Eduard Spitfire Story - Spitfire Mk.I build.

They really do look painted on. Looking forward to the clear coat now which should make them really pop.

How long to make a standard model??

Ah yes, photo-etch! A whole new category of grief - but CA is your friend. When I first tried that I was using regular glue, then too much CA, then some weird little dropper things that I could never get the hang of. Now I am just about competent - well approaching competence at least. One day...

How long to make a standard model??

As above, for me I only get 1 day a week most of the time so I am slow. So long as a I learn something new each time I’m happy enough. This time around - make sure the gloss varnish is smoooooth before decals, because they don’t move easily you don’t. Definitely need to improve my decalling...

    Eduard 1/48 A6M3 Zero type 32

Looking good, are you able to incorporate damage to the part of the wing that is bent? Or a problem still to be solved?

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

Wow, that really is a filler kit, that is very neat for a few hours - I’d almost be tempted to think about one once I get started into the stash.

    Bulldozer Komatsu G40, 1:48. Tamiya

I seem to remember that one, it was a cracking build. Stood out because it was a different subject.

    Steve's Revell 1/48 Mosquito B Mk.IV

Ouch, that is frustrating when you’ve got the office all sorted and then the fuselage looks like it was made for a different piece of kit.

FOR SALE - Stash clearance kits

I was going to donate these kits, but thought I would ask here first if anyone wants to make an offer + postage for any of these. No idea what I paid for them so some of them will be nominal + postage. Happy to sell a few together as well. If not sold, they will go to Models for Heroes. Airfix...

    Airfix 1/72 Beaufort

That is stunning. The weathering is subtle as well which just adds to how good this is.

At what point is your "stash" getting out of hand?

I went through my stash today, after decaling - I found 11 that I can’t see myself doing so I think I will list them or I may just go straight to charity and send them to models for heroes. I would like to say my stash seems better for it, but it still fills two shelves.

    Neils Eduard 1/72 Spitfire F Mk.IX

When these have dried fully, time for the matt varnish - I may think about the stencils for the propeller as they are more noticeable.

    Neils Eduard 1/72 Spitfire F Mk.IX

decals on - well mostly, some of the stencils are so small I just didn’t bother. I need to find a better method to do them - that or stick to 1/48 or higher!

    The things you see 🧐

I came across instructions for something to do with an application years ago, supposed to be for ‘expert’ but the instructions said ‘hint, scroll down if you can’t see all the instructions'

    Hi

Well the Mansfield folks would consider themselves Northern too :) My parents lived in Mansfield for years (Forest Town, when there was still a colliery there!) but I also moved even further North now (County Durham). Welcome Tony, enjoy the forum, and all skill levels are welcome - luckily...

That should be a good size when complete, looking forward to the build thread on this one. 🍿

    Eduard 1/48 A6M3 Zero type 32

With the lack of self sealing fuel tanks, I guess the Hollywood exploding plane would definitely be true for the Zero's being shot down then.

    Scary Moments

It was more of a threat than an offer of help 🤣 We’ve been married for 19 years so I guess we’ve kept each other a while now. My wife fights an endless battle against myself and the dog - I can make a mess in a empty room and the dog is a Westie who can be filthy 5 minutes after getting...

    Scary Moments

My wife just offered to vacuum the man cave, and dust down the shelves and tops! Horror.
