just got the 1:12 Italeri F-16 Cockpit kit off our good friend squiffy.

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=WR&I=LXBYE9

(he took it off his site as soon as i bought it so cant show you it off his website)

looks a lovely kit and from what i have read on reviews and what i have heard from Toby it is!!!

comes with a 1:16 helmet as well!!!

cant wait to make it, i will do a little build thread of it in under construction when i start it. It should arrive friday or saturday and if my paints and ne p/e set have not arrived for the Musashi i will start it then.

i didnt know you could get cockpit models, it was by pure luck i found it on tobys website!

There you go, I have more photos :-) Sorry shameless plug there!

Can't wait to see the build thread on this one Richard! In my opinion it would look LOTS better on a wooden base though, its the only thing i dont like as i think it spoils the rest of the model!

http://virtualf16.20m.com/photo2.html < full url of this guys "project". Theres actually quite a few people building 1:1 F-16 cockpits! I also know of at least 3 people who are doing bucaneer cockpits. Im sure barry will tell you more but i think theres actually a show called "cockpit fest" somewhere up north where people show them off!

I love Nigels idea of LED's....It really wouldnt be that hard when you think about it. IE: the green scope: cut away the plastic inside the circle but with a hot scapel so you can keep the inside bit of plastic. Then scratch build a circluar bit of plastic card so that you make a recess. Glue this to the back of the hole, add LED and wire. Then use clear plastic card on the top and paint green! Like this (excuse the poor artwork):
