I have decided to build a car for a change, I have 2 in the stash, both rally cars from the past but the Martini sponsored Delta is a realy nice colour scheme.

On having a good look I notice a few bits of flash and a few mould lines to remove but as this is an older Hasegawa kit it is only to be expected as their new kits are virtually faultless.

Not a lot of progress on this for a while as the weather has been so good I have been spending a lot of time out on my bike, the downside of the sunshine is that my attic workshop gets unbearably hot by the time evening comes. Anyway, I have done a wee bit on the inner part of the car.

The paint in the footwells could do with another coat but I may not bother as when it's build you will hardly see them. The seats are painted but I need to make and fit the seatbelts before fitting and that will be a task, 2mm strips of ribbon fitted with tiny PE buckles and anchor points, I may be some time.

Next up will be the floorpan and steering/suspension as I am leaving painting the bodyshell till last.

I should get all that done today and then I can start on the bodyshell which will involve a lot of tricky masking around the windows and the black strips on the shell.

Well I have the bulk of the build done.


All four wheels on the ground so I must have done something right.
First coat of white on the shell.

Once the painting is finished I will let it sit for a couple of days to harden up as there is quite a lot of masking to do for the black parts. Now I will need to find something else to occupy my time.
