discussion 1/32 Revell Tornado GR1

I'm looking at getting one possibly two of this old kit and was wondering if anyone has built one? If so what do you think of them? I have the German IDS kit and it looks good but i haven't built it. I was thinking of selling it to fund me buying the British versions, one of which i intend to convert to GR4.

Hi Allyne, don't know about the 1/32 but the Revell 1/72 is a superb model, has panel lines rivets good weapons etc. It was my first model when I re-started modelling. Cheers Derek

I have the 1/32 GR1. Is this the one you're looking at?

I've not built it but I have test fit the major pieces and there don't seem to be any dramas. With these older Revell kits, all the seams and joins will need some attention, but nothing you haven't done before. I'd also guess if you're up to conversion work, you'll be able to add 'scratch' if necessary 'cos there's some areas which could use a bit of extra detail.

Yes Dave that's the one. As i said i want to build two of them. A GR1 from when i was on 14 Sqn and another converted to a GR4 for when i was on XV® Sqn. Looks like i'm selling the IDS and getting two kits then lol
