Hi guys this is my italeri 1/35 scale schnellboot project it is completed at last after 5 week love hate relationship. It is built directly from the box which includes photo etch parts, the only extras added were the crew although i will be adding cammett mines in the next 2 weeks. The paint used on this one were humbrol acrylic sprays, humbrol enamels, tamiya acrylics, oils, artyists acrylics and pastels. The camouflage pattern was a little bit of artistic licence. As always honest opinions please and i hope that you enjoy the pics.

THE BIG FIVE without a doubt Scott.

A superb example of workmanship...and patience, very well done.

When I first saw the pictures and saw brown cammo I didn't like it, but then I saw the close ups and saw the correct grey so it was just the camera light! Frightened me to death.

Once again mate top drawer stuff.

wow Scott how big is it? It looks huge! You've done a fantastic job on that, especially considering the known issues about fitting of the parts. I do like the chipping & the paint-job, I don't know how 'authentic' it is but to me, I can see something like that slipping out of the mist on a cold morning in the Channel. That must have seemed like a never-ending job compared to an AFV but you deserve a big well done for such a top example of a fine build. I'll give this 5 stars if I figure out how! Good stuff sir!

Patrick

ps found the rating bit!

Thanks guys iam glad you like it it measures 100cm long, as for the camouflage i found it on the web on a site called schnellboot markings and colours no one is sure if it is an accurate pattern but i like the drawing and thought it might look good. Traditionaly they were delivered to their flotillas in white or light grey and it was up to the boat captins about camouflage, however there is a photo on the site with a boat with similar markings but an older class. Thank you very much for the five stars and your kind comments definately makes the proccess worthwhile when someone else likes it... thanks again.

I saw the old Airfix 1/72 E-Boat kit in my local shop a week ago & was so tempted to give it a go! It would look weedy compared to your monster! Still, your's is excellent & maybe I'll try one some day-would take me a year to make it though!

I wasn't being critical of your cammo. scheme or colours Scott. I was pointing out how the indoor light can 'mess' with colours, particularily digital images.

Unfortunately, varying angles can alter the colours. It's something we have to all live with.

No mate, it's spot on. Well worth our giving you the big 5.

Ron

Congratulations on a stunning build Scott, just class mate. Looks like someone's going to get five star's.

Nice one Scott! Your Schnellboot is absolutely fantastic!!!The detail is truely sopt on. I've seen loads of other boats and they look pristine and you've done yours with a bit of wear and tear. It really adds to the realism. Is there a bucket somewhere on it? :)
