First coat of Tamiya XF-2 has been laid down. Will re-cover tomorrow with Tamiya X-2 gloss to finish off the white. Then it's onto masking and panting the black strips.

Evening Bob.

Getting there eventually. Using this as a test bed for oil washes and weathering. Ready for the Group build lol

Think I’ll have to add a Tamiya bird to the stash if they are that quality...that one looks cracking. Great work so far Alan :thumb2:

First invasion stripes done. Took a bit of masking but got there in the end. Just a slight bleed under the tape in one or two places. But all in all i think it looks ok.

Ok done for the night. Will leave it all 24 hours to dry properly then i'll mask it off to paint the grey(s). Getting there slowly but surely

Nice work on the invasion stripes Al. Look forward to seeing the grey go on, the Beaufighter is one of my favourites.

Cheers Joe. Still learning this masking around curves thingy. Maybe @Paintguy could give a demo in the tutorial section ;)lol

I'd gladly do one on full size but I don't think I'm quite up to speed on scale stuff just yet :smiling5:

I've painted the upper surfaces and started the lower surfaces now. I made a boo boo and painted the wrong colour underneath. I used a too dark a grey (got my Tamiya numbers wrong) so have reverted back to using Xtracrylix Sky colour. I think it looks ok but could possibly do with another coat in some places. Also used the motor masks tape so i could get the curved masking.IMG_1408.JPGIMG_1409.JPG

The nervous reveal........ Yay! Tamiya (upper surface) lovely to paint. Xtracrylix (lower surface) was a pain (yet again) to spray but i cannot fault the finish they give. Seriously need to figure out what i am doing wrong with these paints.IMG_1412.JPGIMG_1411.JPG
