Hi everyone, I posted a thread a couple of days ago about the Tamiya Medium Grey paint looking a bit off when it dried but it was probably just brush marks. I've been making the Airfix BAe Nimrod kit and I'm impressed with how it turned out. The only problem was most likely my own fault, some of the decals tore upon placement and when I tried to move them, so I have a different number on the side and a different decal on the front end of the left side. I think it was the Decalfix. The link to the other thread is here as it has some pictures before i finished it :D Thanks :)

(The wire that I've used so I can hang it up is already tied on, so may be in many of these photos and it is on paper so the camera can focus on the plane better)

Hi Blair this is looking very nice and I'm surprised that the decals were a bit off ( but is it an older kit from Airfix as I have heard the decals of earlier kits and age dint really mix well ( can crease etc and no doubt the decal fix would prob have enhanced any small tear?

Looks a very clean build and only niggle thing would the ordinance not have had some decals to go on it ( personal preference

Nice looking model

Cheers

It is an older kit so you're probably right ad I haven't had any problems with ripping decals before  :) I can look and see if there was decals for them, I don't think so but I'll tell you if there were :D Thanks :) ;)

Nice one Blair, good job on Nimmy. Decals can be a pain, I leave mine to soak in tepid water for ages then apply, I also use a wet finger to re-soften and move around to the right position.

I like it mate.

No decals for ordinance unfortunately :( ;) :D

A decent build here, the best advice I can give for decals is make sure they're going on a nice even surface and as si mentioned make sure there nicely soaked.

Nice work mate, a great looking aircraft
Thanks Dougie :D It's the largest plane I've made so far and I enjoyed it, so I think I'll make some more big 'uns :D :)

Not too sure, I thought either a Lancaster or a Heinkel would be good choices, but I'm not sure which one. :D I have a few other things to finish first though then I'll get round to it :D ;)

Ha ha the basis of the old Comet. A great looking aircraft. Shame it was a forerunner

and had its problems for the rest of the world to learn from.

Nice model Blair.
