Picked up a Revell 1/72 KT before Xmas and have been working on it now and then. Lots of work to do on this one and a little scratch building.

It's going to be a late-model KT with the Octopus pattern camo. I know only one was ever found on the outskirts of Berlin, but no one can say with 100% certainly there wasn't another. This will be that one ;) I plan to show it abandoned.

That is some pretty amazing detail work at 1/72nd. I'm not so sure I could even focus on that never mind work on it!!

I'm looking forward to your camoflage work at this scale as well!

Thanks, Richard. I've been inspired by the small scale modellers who achieve such wonderful builds. I also initially thought 1/72 might be quicker - I was wrong! lol

Yes, the camo is going to be my ultimate challenge!

Looks very good si far Alex!!

Wow...the camouflage will be a challenge, with out doubt!

Good luck with it! ;)

Thanks, Roman!

And here's some more progress.........

Below: drilling out 1/72 exhausts is scary!

Below: why is the track like that? Read the tiny yellow writing if you care to know :)

Below: red-oxide, baby!

Below: Octo-pattern camo complete and also some chipping.............

View attachment 70235

Below: Using my trusty piece of rusted metal to colour match my chipping (done by tiny, tiny brush and sponge)

Below: Varnished and ready for some oil weathering.............

View attachment 70237

Below: As you can see, the turret is going to stay red-oxide primered. KTs wouldn't have normally left the factory like this, but let's just say this was was rushed out at the war's end................

Stunning work on such a small scale Alex and it's very nice to see you back posting again

Thanks, mate. :)

I've been setting up a small business so modelling has been very limited. Glad to see someone noticed I was missing! lol

Is that to do with your art work Alex ? Because from what I've seen of it it's well worth paying for

Thread owner
Thanks for the compliment, Ian! Sadly the business is not art, but instead buying and selling vintage and retro items. Fingers crossed it brings in the money as this will be my main job.

What a precision work! The weathering looks perfect.

Nice to see you back Alex.... Though we'd lost you :)

How you get 1/72 stuff to this level of detail is really impressive... Keep the updates coming !

Good luck in your new venture as well.
