Hello, colleagues!

My name is Eugen, am from Moldova (former USSR). This is my first publication on Armorama and today I want to show You my first casted scalemodel kit of Soviet/Russian railroad flatcar in 1/72 scale. In former USSR it has tag 13-401.

So, I was developing my own casting workshop about 1,5 years (since May 2015) and now my first kit is ready!

The model consists of 169 pieces. Also 46 cm of railroad consisting of 60 pieces is also included to the kit. So, we have 229 pieces. This scalemodel is the simplest among my plans (I have locos prototypes consisting of about 400 details).
I use high quality American resin, which is very simple to drill, cut and polish.

There is the designed 3D prototype:

And these are some 3D printed master-model details:

First of all I began to produce railroad with concrete sleepers:

I have developed my own casting technology I want to patent.

I will begin assembling with running gear.

Some of 28 springs need to be a little drilled:

As You see there is no breaking system - I didn't create it because it can not be seen. I will design it for other railroad cars models.

Now I am assembling the frame. I didn't create the inner part realistic. But the external part is very realistic.

The frame's parts are installed perfectly.

We should file a little to assemble the railroad.

We have rails connections in every 24cm:

Wheelpair is well fitted onto the rails:

And they are very well installed - no problems!

And now I have a little problem with well seen platform surface. The master model was crashed while moulding. I tried to glue and polish it, but the silicone repeated all the surface defects.

I have tried to polish again. Now I am remoulding the master model and refreshing the moulds.

These details are to be movable (I will try!). They are very tiny.

Excuse me for my being absent for so long time! It was below zero in my workshop.
I decided to reprint my master-model and recreate molds. New 3D prints:

Comparing to other 3D prints I've seen, these look surprisingly clean. I am very impressed, if you did not do any clean up on those parts afterwards!

If I am correct in assuming that this is all based on a 3D-drawing, would it not be rather easy to make kits in 1:32? (That's the gauge 1 scale, and we could definitely use more non-German models!).

Best regards from Copenhagen, Denmark

Christian
