Great metal finish allyne, Tell me how did the klear go on over the metalcote? ive experimented with various silvers and found that the protective coat of klear can sometimes dull down the silver, the problem is if you dont protect it then it can rub off or mark easily. Yours looks excellent so i might have to try this method. cheers tony

Tony. The klear does dull it down a little but not too much. You have to ensure you've polished it well though or you'll end up with metalcote on your brush and ultimately in your bottle of klear which is never a good idea. It took me two coats of the metalcote to get this finish and i do think it would be even better if it was airbrushed on. So far the model has had three coats of klear.

Allyne this is well nice mate to echo what's been said the metalcote finish looks very nice, one thing i found when using this is that the kit has to be flauless in the build stage or it all shows up, however yours looks well done.

Scott you are dead right about the surface having to be flawless. I never really rpepared it too much as this was just an experiment to see what something would look like with the metalcote paint. It really does show up any bumps and lumps though. If i was going to use this paint again in the future then i would defo take more time over the surface than i have done.
