I must be crazy, but I bought myself 3 x 1/72 tank kits as an Xmas present to myself...........I'd like to add some handles to the crew hatches and so on.

What is the best wire to use for this, and what size?

I'm thinking 0.5mm, but what type of wire is best and where can I get some?

I tried using some of the wire from inside of those plastic bread bag ties, but's it's not suitable for this scale.

TIA, and Happy New Year to everyone! :)

I use wire from old ethernet cables, telephone cable, usb cables (for really thin stuff) even old twin core flex from a table lamp will have handy sized wire in it when untwisted

Cheers Colin, I'll see what I can find that needs disassembling :)

Try getting a pack of fuse wire alex, theres several different thicknesses of wire and its easy to bend , plus its only cheap !! Failing that how about the thinnest wire guitar string (dont ask me what letter/note it is!) its very thin but just be careful cutting it , it can shoot out of the pliers at quite a speed!! once youve cut it hold it at the thin end of your snipe nosed pliers and bend each side down to form the U shape . cheers tony
