James, bet that was a blow after all that work. Did you wipe it down with a cloth before painting, i'd use a cloth dampened in a little IPA , not full strength, or a little thinners. Let it dry then apply a thin coat.
Ken quite right with his remark about the gap, have you any filler, it would dry in no time, something like.

No. I sprayed be for gluing it together, that's why there is a gap. But now I've gone back to base I'll try some thing different, even the spray are acrylic but going to try on scrap first to see if my idea comes out ok. You'll see soon enough. My mad idea is. If it works

Jim I would always glue something like that before spraying. If you spray first you will have to spray it again once glued together and you have removed the seam lines (which you always get on something like that)

As I said Jim if you had sprayed the gold on top of the stencil you would not have got the bleeding underneath of the black. It's a great try though Jim. Well done for not going via the instructions. You get a much more individual and different kit that way. This has probably been built oob a thousand times but yours will be an original.

Thanks ken. Model has not turned up yet, hoping it will be here tomorrow. I'll leave the bit's I found for you so far, in the front room. So you can pick them up at some point and if your coming down on saturday or sunday. I'll look in the loft for the other trains, as I do not finish work till 4pm Saturday

You could have painted the gold over the stencil as well it would have worked the same.

Well update. Sprayed frame 3 days ago, and lacquered it today now, time to wait for lacquer to dry. Now getting on with the rest off it.

Looking good Jim I like the gold detailing on the nut (a little wash over that nut will really make it stand out and make it more realistic

Looks ok Jim (If you used enamels as I do the sludge in the bottom of your brush cleaning bottle makes for an amazing wash for this sort of thing )

I was debating to put it on or not Ken. I'm glad I did, I think it sets it off nicely. all I got to do now, is lacquer it. And then scrape off the lacquer, where the seat goes, and put it on the bike. When all the other bits are on. and it will be finished. not rushing it.
