OK - I'm a glutton for punishment...
This one began almost a year ago, when I paid Pocher-money for a 3D printed shell of the Lister 'knobbly' Jaguar in 1/8 scale.
It was very accurate in shape etc as I got the 3D data from Lister cars themselves.
However - the resulting shell was virtually useless, being incredibly rough-texture and as hard as iron meaning sanding it smooth was a massive nightmare.
I've posted a couple of pics of the printed shell - you can see it's pretty grim.
Forward 8 months and the printed shell was eventually usable as a master for vac forming.
Now I had a shell that could be worked on, and the master pattern means I can get more bodies vac formed if/when I want them.
So far I've trimmed the shell parts and given them a 1st coat of grey primer so I can see where further work needs doing to get a good finish.
LOADS of work to do.
I've been very kindly invited to the Lister factory tomorrow to get as many photo's and reference pics as I want or need to enable me to move forwards.
Annoyingly, the pictures show in reverse to how I uploaded them. - ?
Here's hoping - Roy.
