Squiffy in particular,have you seen this lot ! is this a record for the number of kits in one spot ?

Yes, as far as i cant tell this is a record, at last count i had 2300, but i expect this figure to now be around 1800-1900 as ive had a good month but 10,000 is jokes! There was a guy on fine scale modelller forums who had 5000 or so but he was just a personal collector!

Its a pity hes in the US or i would be phoning him now...

***It really makes you realise Squiffy how much dedication they put into these models,our American cousins take their hobbies very seriously indeed,I think the Phantom must be one of the most modelled & kitted aircraft ever.

I too would have loved to have sampled living in this beautiful country.

Mmmm now I wouldn't mind making one of those XB-70 Valkyries....now there is another plane that has always interested me. Shame that the originals never made it into service....

If I am right there is only one prototype left, the other was lost in an unfortunate incident whereby one of it's chase planes got caught in the turbulence behind it and ended up colliding with the XB-70 taking off part of it's wing and a whole Tailfin.....It was ironic that it happened on a rare photo shoot for this plane which the US Military normally declined to do at that time.
