Hello all, it was the time of year and i forgot about it until yesterday. On the home front at Rufford Abbey today, and what a day. I think Peter (PJP) will be happy too, i got some pics of the Ambulance he was interested in from last year, the engine bay is of a Jeep (just so happens i have one in my stash). The Quad is the some as last year too (in the stash hehehe), and the late photo is me in a t-shirt that i just had to get. Next year is going to be great, i've priced up a uniform to fit me. It's £269 but it is a WW2 Army Officers Battle dress uniform and to be honest, i can spend that on models.

Have fun, John

Great to see these vehicles kept in such good condition, those guys must be dedicated

Lovely Standard Tilly there, I wish Accurate Armour did one in 1:35 alongside their Austin and Hillman Tilly. I've built one in 1:48 but it'd be nice to have a 1:35 to go along with the Tamiya Quad model...

Standard Tilly Andrew, i just want anyone to make a kit mate lol. I've got a Tamiya Quad too in me stash and i think thats why i took a good few photo. Wait till next year lol, me and the wife will be dressing up. Was thinking i'm going to have a problem with the camera until my daughter mentioned the gas mask box, i can put it in there lol.

Anyway, have fun, John

Finally got a chance to catch up on the posts and I've just had a blimp at your pictures John.

Looks like a great day out and to repeat Trey's message, thanks for posting your pictures.

Er, who's the bloke in the last picture? I can read his mind right away, 'cos if it was me it would be a case of..."Hurry up and take the picture, I can't hold my 'Boddies belly' in much longer!" lol...

Joking apart my mate, some excellent reference photos for those wot need info.

Keep having fun,

Ron

Er, that'll be me show me new t-shirt off. And you're right Ron, i was holding it in mate lol. Next year i'll have better photos, my beret turned up last week and this morning the RTR (kc) regimental cap badge came. Just need to order my uniform & boots and i'm sorted mate.

Have fun, John

Nice one John, I've never been to a 're-enactment' before, they look good fun. When is your next one?

Not till next year now Ron, we was talking to some of the folks there that weekend (i'm sure she was Mrs Brown from Mrs Browns Boys lol) and they just go to shows dressed up. Then there's the re-enactment people that have to be spot on, me and Wendy was very observant too. The people that go just for the fun of it was dressed in everyday 1940's, the re-enactment people was in high ranking US gear. Don't get me wrong, they all looked the part but when 80% looked like US Air Force i wanted a B-17 to go over.

This is (hopefully) how we are going next year. Wendy will be a munitions worker, Ash (daughter) she wants to go as a WAAF. And me, well, to be a Private i'll cost £340 for the Uniform but you get everything. And it's cheaper to be Officer at £269 for the uniform, so a tankie Sergeant on leave for me.

Have fun, John
